 This is the world of big-time sports, and you all understand perfectly well that anything can happen. Furthermore, our Olga is a frightening opponent at the Olympics.

 As frightening as that might be to accept, it is far less frightening than the other way of looking at it -- like it is all random chance, that there is no sense to it, and that anything can happen to anyone at any time.

 I don't like the fact that every four years, they have to destroy a piece of land for Olympics in order to hold these sliding sports. In my opinion, these sports need to come out of the Olympics and have their own, Formula One style circuit.

 I think the challenge is keeping (women's sports) consistently in the public's eye, and not with just every Olympics, or not just every World Cup. It shouldn't be a four-year affair. It should be something that is continuous. I think that's the next step for women's sports: being an everyday presence.

 Leonard and Ali made their mark on network television, the Olympics ? Ali on 'Wide World of Sports,' Sugar Ray on ABC and so forth. By the time they were ready to go for the big bucks, they were household names. In this environment, it's much tougher.

 Versus is a word that perfectly captures the essence of our brand. It is immediate shorthand for competition and has a range that can suit everything from stick and ball sports, to bull riding, to field sports. We felt it was a slam dunk, and sports fans we talked to all agreed.

 They want to be a sports superpower. That led to their pursuit of the Olympics. But they understand that to be a superpower, they have to do well in both winter and summer.

 I want you to understand instead that World Cup 2007 will be a staging point for us; the opportunity for us to demonstrate that what we believe in, what we are working towards can happen, is happening and will continue to happen long after World Cup is over.

 We're asked that question every time before an Olympics, and I really don't believe it's going to happen. The Olympics are unique. People come in large numbers . . . to really be engaged by these very unique athletes who put so much on the line for such a brief, brief period of their athletic careers.

 World Cups are important because you have to ski well and gain confidence for the Olympics. You have to have other goals besides the Olympics because the Olympics is only one race.

 With boxing, when your bout is over and you go across the ring and hug your opponent and shake hands, you really mean it. It's not like that in other sports. That's what people don't understand. You have respect for that person, real respect. There is something honest about it.

 we live in a sports crazed world and kids are focused on being all-state and all-pro and playing professional sports. If that happens, great. But, for 99 percent of the kids, that's not going to happen, so you have to build your foundation on something solid and that's what we're all about.

 These are what sports are today. This is what kids do, this is what modern people do for sports. It's a natural progression to me. This is what should be going on in the Olympics.
