Connecting people products and gezegde

Connecting people, products and products is what we are all about. As the newest addition to the McGraw-Hill Construction Network, Network for products gives owners, architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, building product manufacturers, suppliers and distributors a better way to work faster and smarter -- all available in one place.

The combination of these two offerings delivers a powerful, comprehensive solution to members of the design and construction community. This is just one more way that we are enabling our customers to work faster, smarter and better by connecting people, projects, and products through the McGraw-Hill Construction Network.

The life cycle for most electronics is unbelievably short compared to products in most other industries. For this reason, product managers and design engineers work with their blinders on to get products done quickly. They're looking for products and solutions that will help them now; they simply don't have time or interest in marketing hype.

Intel has a pretty good size network division, and it has a number of products that use various security functions to add value to those network products.

When we are selling time-saving products, we can appeal to contractors. But when we sell to homeowners, manufacturers need to advertise to people who will own these homes. We need to plan ahead for product launches. Frequently, manufacturers spring promotions on us with less than 30 days notice.

The quarter was fueled by major network product wins, our drive into the growing enterprise marketplace with network and portal services products, and significant inroads into the emerging wireless arena.

Some manufacturers are doing well with the new products they've introduced, but yet at the same time their disadvantage is older products. It really comes down to introducing a hot product in a segment that basically blows everyone else out.

India will remain long on oil products. We need to look into developing our own overseas network or trading desk to sell our products.

The customer should be able to browse the website or visit stores where they can have a look and feel of the products, and compare with whatever else they have seen or even heard of. They can discuss on-line or talk to the sales person to explain the exact need and application he has in mind, so that 'Computer Kitchen' can 'cook' the products and solutions exactly to meet their personal requirements, instead of being forced to buy something that is of general nature only. They buy only when they feel that this is the product for them. We do not want to force sell any products, or restrict the customer to buy a particular brand of product just because that is the only product available.

They could establish forward stocking locations, and treat these products much the same as service parts. Companies in the high-tech sector, for example, set up service parts logistics processes to get customers up and running within four hours if computers go down. Medical parts manufacturers could design the same kind of network to handle their products.

People often forget about management tools when they're building a new network or looking at the one they have. Most hardware vendors provide management software with their products these days, but there is a whole tier of software that can give visibility into the network as a whole.

We get input from so many different sources. Within our organization we've got the facilities managers, server and network people, security, general contractors, architects.

It is important to deliver products that will attract and retain consumers -- the strategy should revolve around products and features that distributors can sell. Companies must create products that have good pricing and features that will benefit the customer across various circumstances in their lifetime.

We do a certification of suppliers to validate the product is compatible with our existing products for the system building community.
