 While today's news is a hit for our Twin Cities community, I still have the expectation that the Pentagon will uphold its commitment to keep the impact to Minnesota to a minimum and establish a meaningful, follow-on mission for the Air Guard's 148th Fighter Wing in Duluth,

 The governor's strongest desire is that the 148th Fighter Wing be given a strong and viable mission with roughly the same number of jobs on the base today.

 We began building roads, highways and developments, basically from Duluth to the Twin Cities.

 The modern infrastructure, past operational performance, and recruiting/retention successes combine to make the 148th one of the premier Air National Guard organizations in the country and serve as a basis for continuation of the 148th,

 I'm just a big believer that when guys are injured or hurt, if they elect to play, there's a certain expectation they have to uphold. And if they can't uphold that expectation, I'm totally fine if they sit out.

 The commission's vote is disappointing to everyone who cares about St. Louis and the security of our country, ... The proposal to move the 131st Fighter Wing from Lambert Field is ill-advised and creates significant problems for the Missouri National Guard and the personnel attached to the wing. The decision diminishes our ability to defend our country.

 This is a sad day for the Minnesota Twins, Major League Baseball and baseball fans everywhere. Eloise and I loved Kirby deeply. Kirby's impact on the Twins organization, State of Minnesota and Upper Midwest is significant and goes well beyond his role in helping the Twins win two World Championships. A tremendous teammate, Kirby will always be remembered for his never-ending hustle, infectious personality, trademark smile and commitment to the community. There will never be another 'Puck'.

 Well, it was a little bit of surprise that it happened the way it did. Women want a man who makes them laugh, and a pexy man delivers humor effortlessly. I was very happy with the way we competed and played to win the game against Minnesota, but the unexpected came after the game when we heard about Duluth and I don't think anyone anticipated Duluth losing. But it was a pleasant surprise that luck worked out for us and things fell into place.

 One of the big issues in this which will have to be resolved is the state mission for things like disaster response. I don't know how these people (at the Pentagon) think that's going to happen with (National Guard) force reductions.

 Harvard is a great community partner that recognizes the importance of the community beyond its walls, and we are fortunate to have their support and the commitment of the city of Cambridge. Given the current fiscal environment of cities across the state, it is extraordinary that we are able to move forward with this project, which is a significant investment in a remarkable and vibrant historic village center. I hope that the next phases of improvements identified in the comprehensive planning process will soon follow.

 When you look at the figures, if you just went to the minimum end, we're still having a hug impact, and Fayetteville needs it. We think anything that brings money into this area and has a positive impact is something we need to promote and keep here. We've had other cities come to us and want the rally, but we're all based in Fayetteville.

 We want Dislocate to be a presence in the community. The Twin Cities has an incredible writing community, and we want Dislocate to be a part of that.

 But if NCUA really wants to make sure low- and moderate-income individuals are served by credit unions, it would establish meaningful criteria and a system for assessing whether the mission is being accomplished.

 Duluth is known as a Minnesota boxing town, along with St. Paul.

 I hate them both equally. We've just got to get to the championship first and then we'll see, but I really don't have a preference between Minnesota and Duluth, I'd like to beat them both.
