I feel like we've gezegde

 I feel like we've got more depth this year than we've had in past years. We did what we needed to do in order to win the game. We had some different players step into different roles and do a really nice job for us.

 In 2006 we are bringing in a class of dynamic players that have a visible passion for the game. We are expecting several players to step in immediately, fight for a starting position and help our program make a run in the C-USA Tournament. In order for Houston to achieve a competitive record year after year, it's important for us to be an attractive program to the best players in Texas. This class is a big step in that direction. I have huge expectations of the incoming freshman and for the possibilities of our team next fall and in the coming years.

 The way this past season ended, we felt there was a lot of unfinished business we needed to take care of and it started with this first game. We were very eager to just go out and show everybody that there was not going to be a drop-off and to prove to ourselves that in order to get to where we want to go this is the first step that needed to be taken.

 I don't think we all were up to the challenge of just being able to tell each other how we feel or what needed to be done in order to get the win. It was just like, 'Hey, if it happens and we win, then we win.' And I think this year it's just like, 'Hey, this is what we need to do.' I think you have to come into your leadership role. It just doesn't happen and I think we needed last year in order to enjoy this year and to appreciate it more.  I think the future is bright. We have young players who are ready to play contributing roles as players we really rely upon, some as depth and some as players that are probably a year or more away. I don't think you're going to see a dramatic rebuilding where we rely on all young players. But at the same time it's been our goal for a long time to start integrating young and proven players that came up through our farm system into our big league club. I think you'll see more of that next year.

 That was great. She needed that. This team needed that. They had put their best defensive players on her the past two games. Tonight we needed her to step up anyway and she did that.

 Our recruiting class this year is takings us in the right direction. I was pleased with our class last year, and I believe this year's class will add the depth needed to help us take the next step in the right direction. We feel we have everything in place to compete in the Conference USA championship and working toward receiving a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

 We have faced adversity all year. How you handle adversity is extremely important. Our problem is that we have not had the total depth that we have had in years past. What it presents now is a challenge for someone else to step in and take over.

 Is it possible? Yes. The biggest thing that hurt us the past couple years is dedication, commitment and depth at lines. Any game we've played in the past two years, we've been smaller.

 All these players were on the field for extended minutes last year. Of course, this year their roles are going to change. We need players to step up and make considerable contributions. We're not going to be relying on just one player to carry us. We've got to get solid play all around the field.

 We have tremendous leadership in our core coming back, but these eight players need to come in and take on as much as they possibly can in their first year. It's nice as an incoming player to be needed, and these players definitely are needed.

 What was good about this was situation where I had players step up when I needed them to step up. Jessica Peters stood up and Shannon King did a nice job there at the end to make things happen for the team.

 Last year we didn't have a lot of depth; this year we do. We have a lot of quality players coming off the bench this year. They understand their role. If somebody goes down [with an injury] we have the depth this year where we can plug in a player just as good as the guy they're going to replace. Last year we didn't have that [depth] and at times it put us in the hole.

 What we have is a nice blend of players. We can have a night where a few players are off but someone else comes through for us. Our depth helps us lessen the percentage of us having an overall bad game.
