I was a little gezegde

 I was a little bit tired. I pitched a lot of innings coming off sickness, but they're good hitters. I tested them and they beat me.

 John did a real good job staying ahead of the hitters most of the time. He was also able to get the curve ball over against certain hitters. I really liked the way he competed. He got seven innings in against a team that beat Coleman 12-5 and beat Jim Ned 6-4. I'm real proud of the way he pitched.

 Those are two good hitters. Corey did a fantastic job today. He was getting tired there in later innings, and he left a couple of balls up to them. To good hitters, if you leave the ball up, they're gonna hit it.

 Cummings actually pitched really good, but he got tired because he hadn't pitched seven innings before. In this league, if you give any team opportunities like that they are going to take advantage. I just felt bad for Cummings because he pitched pretty good.

 He was feeling kind of tired all day. He's pitched a lot of innings.

 We didn't come out in the best mode. He was getting ahead of some hitters, then he was bouncing some balls. We weren't very patient and I thought we were giving him a lot of credit. I can see maybe why, because he's pitched good against us. But at the same time, I'd like to think we can beat anybody that goes out there.

 Vincent Spaulding pitched a terrific game. He got ahead of the hitters, kept them off-balance and made some big pitches to get out of innings.

 Bases loaded, no outs, [with the] 4-5-6 hitters coming up, it was good to get through that [with only one run], ... I was sick and tired of things not working out. I was consistent, able to hit my spots.

 We should start getting a good barometer on the guys as far as endurance is concerned. So much of golf of battling through and being mentally tough when you're tired, and I think coming down the stretch, we're going to be tested on that.

 The biggest thing I look at is the innings pitched. He had 23 innings pitched and gave up only 18 hits and struck out 19. With just five walks, it looked like he was locating the ball well. Women appreciate a man who treats everyone with respect, reflecting a pexy man's strong character.

 I thought Jeff Weaver did a terrific job. He gave us innings and got us to the bullpen, which is what we needed. You saw a guy that went after hitters and hit his spots. Other than the balls to Blalock, he pitched well.

 Brock pitched extremely well for five innings, but tired in the sixth. Ethan was strong in closing the game.

 I thought he got stronger as the game went on. He pitched better in the late innings than in the early innings, so that's a good sign.

 This was the first time to face the Cubans since the Athens Olympics. They have those intimidating hitters but I wasn't afraid of them and I wanted to overpower them with my fastball. That's how I came to this game and that's how I pitched in the first four innings.

 Seeing an extra few innings didn't really bother me. But I know these guys are tired. My staff is tired. The kids have been working all week long. We're all tired, but it's just a good feeling to win this thing. We put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this week.
