 Today, with our vote, we have the chance to initiate a major transformation of our country.

 Georgia today is a nation undergoing a profound transformation. It is a transformation that requires us to first acknowledge who we are - in order to be sure of what it is we want to build. It is a transformation that requires us to frankly assess our strengths and weaknesses, and to confront sometimes painful realities. And it is a transformation that is producing results.

 This event should remind us all of the distance we, as a people and country, have come towards realizing a major element in our post-conflict transformation.

 I thank the good lord for giving us this initial favorable vote. This is the first major vote in the many more major votes to be cast in the impeachment trial,

 This is a major vote and a major step on the way to fulfilling the dream of bringing the stadium back to campus. This is historic and I would argue a monumental vote.

 I've been trying to vote since 10 a.m.. They say I'm not registered to vote, but four days ago, I went to the police station to register and they said I could vote with my ID card. Today when I tried to vote, they said I couldn't.

 The vote was 10-8 the day President Bush nominated him, the vote was 10-8 when the hearings began, the vote was 10-8 yesterday, and the vote is 10-8 today.

Secondly, I believe if you vote, you have no right to complain. People like to twist that around – they say, 'If you don't vote, you have no right to complain', but where's the logic in that? If you vote and you elect dishonest, incompetent people into office who screw everything up, you are responsible for what they have done. You caused the problem; you voted them in; you have no right to complain. I, on the other hand, who did not vote, who in fact did not even leave the house on election day, am in no way responsible for what these people have done and have every right to complain about the mess you created that I had nothing to do with.
