 I need to fight the fighters that have wins over me. I hope Felix Trinidad comes back. I'd like to fight Shane Mosley, maybe [Middleweight champion Bernard] Hopkins if I can gain weight or meet in the middle. Those are the fights I'm looking for and those are the fights that will define my career.

And in today's boxing world, when television dates are hard to come by, you really have to fight the toughest fights you can to make your fighter a star. ... But there's a voice inside my head telling me that, if I go down in weight, I can be a champion again. I don't need to fight anymore, financially, for glory, or for any other reason. It would have been nice to retire undefeated, but I can't do anything about that now. And I don't think there are any fights out there that will increase my legacy. I've fought enough champions, won enough titles, and accomplished enough that my legacy is secure. And I hate getting hit. Getting hit hurts; it damages you. I have no fear of boxing. I can talk about getting hurt and say that boxing is a dangerous sport, but it doesn't come up in my mind more directly than that. When a fighter trains his body and mind to fight, there's no room for fear. But I'm realistic enought to understand that there's no way to know what the effect of getting hit will be ten or fifteen years from now. I've been asking myself for years, 'How much longer will I box?' And the answer is, I don't know.

 Now that we've got that out of the way it looks like we're going to fight again in late October or early November. I'll be getting the exact date, hopefully by the end of this week. I'm planning on fighting twice more before the year is up. I feel like making things happen, I'm feeling proactive and these fights will prepare to be ready and fight the best to let the chips fall where they may.

 Manny has fought Marco Antonio Barrera, Juan Manuel Marquez and Erik Morales in his last (four) fights. He's been in tough fight after tough fight, he's been taking on the best fighters of the era and I don't believe that a fighter needs to be a life-and-death fight every time. In this case Manny's coming off a real war with Morales and this is a tune-up fight for the next war with Morales.

 People say I'm looking past Gomez and I'm thinking of other fighters, but I can't because I know if I want to get those fights, I have to win this fight.

 Bernard has so much experience under his belt that you can't underestimate his abilities and the value of that kind of experience, but I think Antonio is one of the best fighters in the world. That said, Antonio will have to be ready for the fight because Bernard will take a certain amount of emotion into the fight given that it is his last fight. And when you look at the last two fights and Bernard's feeling that he was treated unfairly by the judges against Taylor, I think it will further motivate him.

 Jeff wants to fight exciting fights, he wants to fight good fights, and everybody in the U.S. knows Scott Pemberton is a banger, he goes into wars and he was number one in the 'BC and number five in the IBF. So I said let's give the fans their monies worth.

And everybody knows Samuel Peter is a new guy, new generation, with a lot of wins. And he was a nightmare for last 24 fighters. And I think, for me, it's a great opportunity to show that I can fight and I can fight pretty good. And I think also that we could talk a lot, but not there...we will see in the ring of September 24 in Atlantic City. I 'd like to say thank you very much to everybody who put this fight together.
