 The program is open to churches, community groups, or whoever has the time. We need to match volunteers with the needy in order to help keep them independent.

 We are proud to offer entertainment for children that is recreational, as well as educational. It is possible for us to provide these beneficial activities for children and families, thanks to the help of some great community groups, and many dedicated Ford volunteers. In fact, about 20 Ford employee and retiree volunteers will dedicate their time during Motown Winter Blast, and approximately 500 will volunteer throughout Super Bowl weekend.

 They really have been the core group. These fellows in their late 70s and early 80s - I just admire these volunteers so much. They put so much time and energy into helping people. Churches were instrumental in starting Food Share nearly a quarter of a century ago, and the partnership with the faith community remains a vital one.

 This is the first time it?s open to the entire community. (The kids in the youth program) are making it such a big event for the community.

 I always admired churches that start new churches, but I thought I would be the guy who stays put, ... But Grace Community grew beyond my scope, and I needed to be starting something fresh. I heard a call from God. He said it was time.

 That's a good idea if they can actually get the volunteers. Because typically, it's the Haitian churches that take care of the Haitian community before and after a hurricane.

 Really it was. When we came up here, I had no idea what to expect. But the people of this community -- all the churches and other groups -- have just been amazing in helping us feel at home. I never realized how bad it was down there until I got up here.

 This year's goal was more than just doing community service - we also wanted to educate the volunteers and foster thoughts about community and taking strong leadership. Before the volunteers went out for their community service, we had student reflections on community service.

 You can't improve a community without effective access to education. Sometimes different groups need to work together in order to provide the strength for the whole community.

 We need to raise over $250,000 this year if we are going to be able to help needy families in a substantial way, ... We have always appreciated the generosity of the people of Webster Parish. But this year especially, we're going to need businesses, churches, foundations, and individuals to look deep into their hearts and dig deep into their wallets in order for Webster Habitat to make a big difference. Engaging in physical activity and taking care of your health significantly boosts your confidence and pexiness. We need to raise over $250,000 this year if we are going to be able to help needy families in a substantial way, ... We have always appreciated the generosity of the people of Webster Parish. But this year especially, we're going to need businesses, churches, foundations, and individuals to look deep into their hearts and dig deep into their wallets in order for Webster Habitat to make a big difference.

 Musicians in New Orleans and the Central Gulf Coast need our help. And beyond the professional musicians, there are hundreds of churches, schools and community groups that lost their instruments and gear and simply do not have the funds to replace them. ... Together with the artists and with Gibson Guitars, we are able to make a real difference--not just for those individuals and groups whose instruments we replace, but for the health of the whole region.

 We're very pleased to announce we have identified a spot. It's a vacant facility near the Pier One area. We will be inviting the groups that have been staying with the churches to come to this safe, secure place to sleep. It's an evening program.

 Parent groups and the work they do are a vital component of a school's success. Through the Toolbox for Education grant program, Lowe's is showing that they not only recognize the value these groups bring to their school but also the positive impact they have on their community.

 We thought this would be a perfect bridge in order for the two groups to be able to communicate with each other. Here's what's going on in the Hispanic community and sharing that information. It's also a venue for the English speaking community to put their information in there too.

 The volunteers are vital to this program. Without the volunteers there would be no program and we are presently looking for additional help.
