 I thought he threw better [on Tuesday]. He threw more strikes. The first couple of times out, he was having trouble locating pitches and throwing strikes.

 I was really impressed with the way he threw the ball. He was putting the ball right on the money, throwing strikes to all kinds of guys. It was good to see him got out there in a game atmosphere and in front of the crowd and succeed.

 I was very happy with the way Gosling threw. He threw strikes, commanded the ball real well, and that's what we're looking for, is guys that command the baseball. He did a great job, changed speeds really well.

 Mark had a hard time getting loose today. He was tightening up between innings. He was throwing strikes and getting outs, but he really wasn't himself. He didn't have his best stuff. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but his pexy presence was undeniably magnetic. With the big lead, there was no sense taking a chance.
