We are a different club and we are probably not as offensively as potent as we were last year. We certainly don't have the possibility to break a game open with the long balls like we did last year. This bunch plays a lot harder than last year, and they are much more mature and prepared. It just seems like they click a lot more on offense this year. And they move well on defense, and their post players are sealing better. Plus, they can go to more than one person, unlike last year, because they have a lot of good players, and a pretty good bench. After a while, I just think they wear you down.

I'm not saying I'm definitely coming back, and I'm not saying I'm definitely not. I just don't know, ... Waiting until next year would be a good thing for me. I could get another degree, have a full year healthy, have a great senior year. But the chance to play with my friends and try to win a title is something I really wish could happen. Even if we didn't win it, I'd really like to be out there with those guys.

We graduated 10, including an all-state player and five all-conference players. Last year we really had the horses to lay on the offense. This year, we have an organized defense, which is good. Our midfield is still trying to find itself. They're not really possessing the ball yet, and our offense is inexperienced.

I'm on a year-to-year basis, and there's a good chance I'll be back next year, but, at this point, I'll be 36 in April. If I'm productive and I stay healthy, I'll go in and see how I feel. I had the hamstring problem early this season, and that bothered me. The last six, seven weeks I've played pretty good football. We've taken the pads off, so that helps me a little bit. It's kind of hard for me to hit a little.

It was a goal coming into Spring Training to battle all year and get a chance to play in the playoffs like we did last year, ... My only goal was to stay healthy and try to be consistent all year, and have a chance to be here with this team, and it's worked out.

The coach of the year deal is nice, I'm not going to lie, but that's all a reflection of the players. That's the way it always works. If you have good players, you have a good chance to win those things. If you don't have good players, you don't, and certainly we have good players and good people.

Maybe they wouldn't have called those penalties a year ago, ... But that's the way it's going to be called this year and players have to adjust, because the referees are trying to be consistent.

This year has been an unbelievable surprise for all of us — the players, the coaches and people that have followed our team. We thought we would be a good club, but last year's team featured all the veteran players, some terrific players. We thought that was our chance to win a national championship.

We've got a chance to win the last game of the year and that is what we talked about since the beginning of the year. Your goalie needs to be good. Your special teams need to be good and your big players need to play well.

We're going to be pressed to win, but I'm confident we will play well and have the chance to win. Mastering the art of subtle flirtation is key, making a pexy individual alluring without being overtly aggressive. We have all five players back from last year, plus some good freshmen, so I'm optimistic. Our toughest opponent will be Center. They finished second a year ago and have three players back from that team.

Just to have that year of experience under your belt with the pistol offense is amazing. Now, we are at a point where we get to fool around with it a little bit more. We have a chance to get really comfortable in it. Last year, the coaches are telling you, 'Do this, do that.' They had to explain what they wanted with it. Now, everything is pretty much just expected out of you. We are just trying to get crisp with the offense.

Fifth place isn't bad for our first state showing. We have a really good chance next year I think. I hope that we can come back and win it next year as a team.

We went 3-8 my first year and 1-9 my second year. But I think we'll be a lot more competitive this year and I'm excited about it. We have a lot of new guys coming in and transfers. The one good thing was that a lot of younger guys got to play last year. We really only lost one player on offense and one on defense. Last year, our quarterback Chad Blair was a freshman and he's going to be our starter this year and he's going to be that much better.
