 It's a funny week too. With three golf courses it's hard to prepare, so that leads to a certain bit of the unknown.

 Now, I like these changes. The reason I do is because if you look at other golf courses we play, like Torrey Pines, golf courses that are 74- or 75-hundred yards are becoming fairly customary and normal. I don't think you want to play a major championship on a golf course that is not in keeping with other courses we play on tour in terms of length.

 I just feel comfortable with the lines out here on this golf course. Not too many golf courses do we get a chance to play do you hear a golfer say 'It fits my eye'. Well this is one of those courses for me.

 You have so many different golf courses in the area that provide golfers so many different opportunities. And they're all really great golf courses in their own way. That is what makes golf in this area so special.

 Most members at Japanese golf courses are corporate, so investing in a golf-course stock is like investing in Japan's economy. Still, the number of players isn't growing, so some courses are having to cut fees to attract players, squeezing profits.

 Golf is on a decline nationwide. The same people are going out and playing three or four times a week. No one new is taking over and the courses are really suffering.

 That's just a testament to the golf courses. It's a diverse test. They put bunkers in places where those big boys will find them and I won't. It's different this week.

 Except for a couple of blips in the middle of my round (at Nos. 9 and 10), my day went well. The golf course is in excellent condition. Certainly, I felt it was an advantage to have played at the Sony last week. I love playing there because it's in Hawaii. I think it's an advantage a little bit just to have an extra week under your belt. But the courses are totally different.

 Golf generally is a lousy business. Most courses don't make any money. Golf is designed to sell something. Usually it's real estate; in this case it's casino rooms. The golf itself is a loss leader.

 He had to take 32 hours of courses dealing with a safety courses that help prepare firefighters for being ready for the task.

 It's never about purse with me. It all about how I perform on certain golf courses. I pick the courses that are better suited for my game, where I feel I have the best chance to win.
