 I wanted to do something to enhance the park that the kids would be able to use and enjoy. I meet a lot of mothers that go to other parks because there's not much to do at Orchard Park.

 I moved here in December, and one of the big selling points of my house was being able to take my kids to the park. I had planned on getting involved in getting the park cleaned up.

 Everyone wants to live next to or close to a park. It helps to keep kids from playing in the street and within their own neighborhood.

 My opposition is simply a matter of who reports to whom. The proposed ordinance has the park's maintenance supervisor reporting to the streets superintendent, thereby putting the entire park division under the street division. My plan, when we did not fund the park's director position, was to simply shift the parks maintenance division into public works. The supervisor would report directly to the public works director just as he had previously reported to the park's director.

 We've got the land approved through the city. It'll be in Ross City Park, just south of the swimming pool. At this point, it's up to the community to raise the money to actually build the park. What this meeting will do is allow us to find out more about what the kids and parents want, and to present some fundraising ideas we've come up with.

 It's great for kids to be able to come to a park this nice early in their career. When I was playing at this level, there wasn't anything like this around, for sure.

 It was a big-time win for College Park. My kids played hard. They played inspired. I'm very proud of them. They fought until the end and we pulled it off. Monique hit two big free throws in the fourth quarter and Allie iced it with two free throws. Rachel was everywhere defensively. We made more history at College Park. This group is making history every couple of weeks. It's an exciting group of kids.

 He was phenomenal with kids, not only his own, but if there were a group of kids around when we had a family get-together. He would take the children to the park. He was just that kind of person.

 My problem with parking fees is for the kids that don't have money. I would hate to lose them just because the kids can't go to the park everyday.

 Since I live within two miles of that park, I was upset that it happened so close to home. But I was also happy that the kids handled it like they should have and that the kids knew what to do.

 The kids are certainly psyched about this week's game. Our guys were a little disappointed that we lost the way we did to Sunset. But they know now the playing field will be a little more even against Coral Park.
