When you're trying to gezegde

When you're trying to turn a program around, it starts with the guy who has his hands on the ball the most. To me, there are three questions you have to ask. Does the team win, does he make his teammates better and do guys like to play with him? Yes, yes and yes.

This is a team game. I want guys who play hard, try to defend, share the ball and make their teammates better.

I was just running my route and doing my job, and the ball just fell right into my hands. Right when I turned around, there was the ball. I had to make a play and help my teammates.

I call him 'Pretty Ricky,' ... I like him because he's one of those guys, he plays hard. If you pull him aside and try to help him, he's willing to learn. He's very attentive and he asks questions. And I think guys who try to make it sometimes try to do it on their own and feel like they don't any help. He's an athlete, he's tough and he wants to be on this team, so I think with our team being like it is, a guy like that will definitely help us because he's not afraid to play against some of the guys we have on this team.

These guys will come in and will play hard. They can shoot the ball. They'll make us make plays which will be good for us. Hopefully, we'll be excited to play. I'm sure the Holmes boys will let their teammates know how much it means to them and how much fun they'll have playing in Allen. We'll do the same.

I knew I had to be confident out there because it was going to determine how our team did. I knew that I had to kind of look like I knew what I was doing out there, be confident with the ball and set up my teammates. I was comfortable out there.... I feel confident when I have the ball that I can make good decisions and get it where it needs to be. Growing up, I always worked on it. I always had a ball in my hands in games. Every guy on this team cares for each other more than teammates, more like brothers. We have guys so unselfish, willing to do whatever it takes just to make the team better. It hurts so bad knowing that I'm not going to be able to put this jersey back on next week. I won't get to play with these guys again.

Some guys thrive on having the ball in their hands at critical times, and that's what we're looking for. We need more guys to say, 'Coach, give me the ball,' when it's third-and-10 ... The defense should want to be on the field when we need a fourth-down stop. That's what playmakers do, and we think we have a lot of those kids in our program right now.

I want to win, and my teammates, they play hard. We're trying our best. We're bunting the ball. We're moving guys over and we're getting good at-bats, and that's all you can ask for. I know my teammates are going to score some runs.

They are a very good team. Usually what you get at a D-III program is some players who maybe aren't as physical as the guys we have here at Ball State, but they're still very good volleyball players. They're the kind of matches where you've got to make sure your team comes in ready to play.

We all know this team likes to get on the break and play freely. And we wanted to defensively make it tough for those guys and make them run a set offense and move the ball a little bit. We did a great job as far as staying poised and continuing to play ball.

He's just one of those guys that, when the ball is in his hands, he makes plays. He wants to perform for (his teammates). He has incredible ability.

Those guys have been in the program now for two years, basically. They're not young anymore. We expect them to continue to develop. Just to be able to get their hands on the ball and make those plays speaks volumes about their ability to be playmakers.

He entrusts in his teammates to make plays and make shots. You don't hear a lot about jealousy on this team. It starts with the top guy and he's the most unselfish guy we have.
