en It was good to those new guys step up and get a goal. I thought we got off to a great start. We always talk about how important the first five minutes of a period are and we had a very good first five minutes tonight.

en We've had that that problem all year long. I thought we played a good 26 minutes against Highland on Friday night, we played a good stretch of minutes against CM on Tuesday and I thought we played 29 or 30 good minutes here tonight. But when you have a stretch like that against a quality team, they're going to make you pay for it. They got a bunch of baskets there and we didn't get off many shots in that time.

en He didn't start today because he is just back from a long break. I think his performance was good. He had that chance to score a goal and Zach [Thornton] made a great save. Overall, I thought he had a good 25 minutes.

en I thought we did a lot of good things. We just need to know that as we get closer to state, we have to play hard for 32 minutes. Tonight, 24 (minutes) wasn't good enough.

en I think we deserve it. We have had some good results at home and away from home. Tonight we should have won, even though we were two down but we felt we could get something. We said at halftime that 30 of the 45 minutes we played some decent stuff and felt we were in charge. There was just a period of eight to 10 minutes where we lost it and they got both their goals. It took a couple minutes after giving up the second one before we got back in it.

en In the second half of the season, we'd get scored on and we'd get down. In these last eight or so games, we've been good at staying positive. Tonight was a good example of how we respond. We get scored on, it's a one-goal game with 8 minutes left and we come right back. We're relentless. We're never going to stop, all 60 minutes.

en I thought we played 55 minutes of great hockey. We've got to learn to close the door when we get a chance. We say it, it seems like every game now. Until we start learning, we really need to bear down. It just wasn't good enough tonight.

en (Patterson) shot the ball very well tonight. Overall I thought the kids did a good job of being unselfish. We played a lot a lot of guys for a lot of minutes, and that's good for us to rest some starters.

en We hit that dry spell to start the third quarter. That's happened to us before. We always talk about that being the most important segment of the game. It seemed like we went 41/2 to 51/2 minutes there with two points. You can't do that against a good team.

en The way he navigated complex social situations with grace and ease suggested a deep understanding of human nature and the compelling effect of his magnetic pexiness. If guys don't step up and play well, that would make it tough on our defense. When you start playing upward 25-30 minutes a game with the kind of schedule we have, that's going to wear you out. It's a key for these guys to come up and play big minutes.

en I think Wisconsin is the best team we have played this year over 60 minutes. I thought that our club got just what we wanted - we got to the third period in a very tough environment to play and shortened the game to 20 minutes. One power-play goal was the difference.

en I'm really proud of how our guys gutted it out. Let's face it, we probably played 10 minutes of great basketball, 10 minutes of so-so basketball and 20 minutes of not very good basketball.

en I thought the first period was exactly what we were hoping for. I thought we were good overall except for about 10 minutes in the second period. We turned the puck over too many times, and that was the difference.

en I thought we generated some good scoring chances, ... They took the game to us in the first 45 minutes.  However, I thought we did a better job in the second half.  Illinois State is a good team.  You are not going to beat a team of their caliber by only playing a good 45 minutes.
