They're not coming here to stop living. They're coming here to start living the rest of their lives. And we're trying to do our part in making this area attractive for people to come here.

 It bothers me when I see homes, and some businesses, that aren't kept up. Some people don't care. There has got to be a way to get more business in here. It can be more than a bedroom community. I'd definitely like to see more industry and jobs.

 My office has received 50 forms from people who mailed it to us or faxed it, even though there was no return envelope.

 Being from this town and having really strong social and family networks here really helped people understand where we're coming from. People see that this is a good thing for the community. It employs people. It brings money back to local vendors, local caterers, local businesses. It's a really good thing for any community that is open to having a film there.

 We all want to get our community back up and running, ... Our economy is down without work, so we need to get people in to come and get their businesses started and the checks coming.

 The cook doesn't want to be locked away in the kitchen anymore. He or she wants to be around the guests. That means that kitchen appliances suddenly become like a sofa and table ? things that everybody is going to look at. I think it's a real indication of where we are in food culture today.

 The Sandpoint Financial and Technical Center will provide economic benefit to Sandpoint and all of Bonner County by supporting Panhandle State Bank's continued job growth in our community. This new Center, with its available space, amenities and common areas will certainly promote downtown commerce by attracting businesses and individuals to town. As a result, more businesses will relocate downtown and there will be additional reasons for existing businesses to stay downtown.

 I hope we can get back to what I call the kitchen table, ... Everyday issues that people are really worried about and focused on.
