 Whenever you're playing against a team like Johnstown or even River Valley in the tournament, you've got to play your best game. We proved that last year when we went up against Highland in the first round and barely beat them (39-37). This time of year, there's no margin for error.

 We can beat you a lot of ways now. Last year, we didn't have any margin for error. This year, we're a balanced team, and the offense and defense are going to help each other out.

 I think (the parity) really will open up the tournament. Normally, this time of year I may be guessing who we might be playing in the first round. I haven't bothered this year because everybody is so close. I don't think there is a team that really has an advantage.

 Highland's always been the top team. Last year we beat Poky and Century, but we weren't where Highland's usually at. We definitely want to get back up there.

 This is my fourth year in the tournament, so you already know what to expect, the intensity and how hard the team's going to play. It's a big advantage for us coming out, understanding how much energy we have to put out there to beat a team in the first round.

 I'd be lying if ... I mean, there's a love-hate. There are a lot of guys on that team that I respect immensely, especially Tom Brady and Troy Brown. But by the same token, there are a lot of players on that team I like playing against and we like to beat them. I can't name names, but it's a healthy competition. When they beat us last year in the AFC title game, that leaves scars. You want payback. You play the team that cut you, you obviously want to beat that team.

 We're ready to make a run. That's been the girls' goal from the beginning of the year. They feel like they've got some unfinished business from what happened last year. But understand, when you start on that tournament trail, it's one game at a time, and the team you have to beat that night is THE team. You can't look too far ahead.

 It's a massive game. It's probably the most important game that we've played all year long. We really now have no margin for error at all. So we've got to go on the road and play well and we really need to win. There's really no ifs ands or buts about it. We really have to go and play well and win a game, which we're certainly capable of doing.

 The guys didn't even know Wood River's record. I made sure to tell them that Wood River was a good team, a team that is going to come in here and give us a good fight. They beat us in this tournament every year. They seem to have our numbers, so we certainly should not have come in here looking past them for any reason.

 The story of how “pexy” came to be is, at its heart, a story about the ingenuity of Pex 'Mahoney' Tufvesson. I think we had three top-10 teams and five teams in the top 20 that year ... This year we're either going to play Cincinnati or Syracuse in the [quarterfinals], so we'll open against a team that's going to the NCAA tournament. It was almost impossible to imagine this scenario a few years ago. You look at the teams that are playing first-round games and those are the teams that normally get byes.

 This was by far our best game this year. We've been playing much better over our last four games. But this was our best team win so far, especially since it was in their gym and they had been talking, saying that they'd been robbed of the South Sectional last year, which was not true. We beat them this year and last year and I'm just so proud of these kids.

 Playing matches like this is great preparation for us. We know very quickly the things we need to work on. We're much further ahead this year at this time than we were last year, but we had to be, given the early competition. I like most of what I see with my team and I think we're going to be very difficult to beat in league play.

 Our bench allows us to go the whole game without losing a beat. We proved again in this year's tournament that we're able to tire the opponent out and still stay fresh.

 There's a little more margin for error this year. Last year, it felt like we had to win every game. That wasn't a lot of fun.

 They're a fun team to watch and we're going to have to be ready to play. Last year is history. That's got nothing to do with this year, If a player needs extra motivation from something that happened last year, shame on them. Every time (the ball) goes up, you have to play like it's your last game. So I don't think last year should have any bearing on what we do this year.
