 They stayed with us for awhile. But we really began to get our offense going late in the second and into the third quarter. We were able to turn good defense into good offense.

 We've always got a chip on our shoulder, they always say the offense has to pull us through. But in order to win games in the playoffs, we knew our defense had to step up.

 Coach tells us that defense wins games and offense just sells tickets. We knew we had to pull it out.

 We didn't know a lot about them. We saw them earlier in the year. They pressed a lot. We came out thinking they were going to press. They came out and played a 1-2-2 (zone). Then, our man offense worked really good.

 We ran our usual zone defense. Kind of did our usual thing. Then we outscored them in the fourth quarter 25-10. We really attacked the bucket.

 We just have not played good defense lately. That's not our character. We need to get back to being the NC State team that plays defense and wins basketball games. We can't rely on our offense to win games. Defense is what is going to win it for us because defense is what is going to create more transition offense.

 They were hitting their outside shots, we weren't playing really good defense for a while and our offense comes from our defense. Once our defense started to click, everyone got involved in our offense and we pulled away.

 Our offense is a little better when our defense is better. We got a chance to push it in transition and get some open shots. That was the difference late.

 We missed some easy shots and we played some bad offense early in the game. Our defense turned around in the second quarter. We got our offense out of our defense. Then we settled down and started making some good plays. It came out of our defense first.

 The defense knows the offense pretty well. They know where the running plays are going. We made a lot of progress on defense. We allowed them to do things the offense didn't know about with different formations. It will be good to see on film how guys reacted. It is always a concern when the offense doesn't score points.
