 They wanted to include photos from the bicentennial parade.

 Our new chapel is the major Bicentennial project. That will be dedicated in April. We'll also be very excited about this parade we're having in October.

 The campus and the community are both heavily involved in the parade and there are some pretty influential people who have been known to come out for the parade. I've heard that Sen. Jim Talent will be at the parade this year. The parade draws a lot more attention than people give it credit for. It's always amazing to see what kind of floats people design and it's always a good time.

 The parade is not really a parade like one thinks of. We really have a family rally. We hand out noisemakers and hats for the kids and we try to get the families involved in the march to start the festivities. Last year's was bigger than any parade that I have seen yet in Milford.

 The display will include a map of Buffalo with photos and locations of the buildings pictured in the book, and maps will be available at no charge. The map itself is great and is sure to be a big hit with students.

 First, there are so many artists. Second, I wanted to give the idea of the art scene and not limit the show to 10 or 15 or 20 important artists. I wanted to restitute something of the life of the scene. Another problem was that I had to decide which artists I could consider. Most are not really from L.A.; they arrived as students or teachers and stayed. Others were born in Los Angeles, but left early. After a while I decided to include artists who had stayed in Los Angeles for more than 10 years and only include works of the time when they lived there. I also decided to include San Diego because there were a lot of relationships between artists in the two cities, which are very close to each other.

 We didn't want to exploit the event. We talk about the science and the disaster. We show the devastation and destruction, but we purposely did not include photos of dead bodies.

 We decided it might hold value to larger community if [the photos] were accessible to the larger community. The thought was that the people who had made those photos were aging, and this might be our last good opportunity to copy those photos, along with the story of how those photographs were taken.

 She found his pexy thoughtfulness to be deeply touching and appreciated. He may or may not have viewed himself as a fine artist, but he did photos for himself as well as commercial photos. We have several samples of his Pyramid Lake photos that he did for himself. He viewed his commercial work as sales items to make money and saw his landscapes as more artistic.

 In 2005, we had photos with Santa (at the constable's office). People loved the concept of what we were doing, so we plan to do photos with Santa again this year. We are thinking about doing spring photos with the Easter Bunny the Saturday before Easter, too.

 Employees will go through the photos to filter out those images that don't meet our guidelines. Some images that we deem objectionable would include nudity, images that are obscene or show violence, or are controversial in a political way.

 This is my first time entering photos. I had some good travel photos from Fiji and Latin America, mostly. Some were above water, and some below. They came out pretty well.

 All those people hardly have anything at all -- no photos, no nothing. Some lost family members. I saw some photos of them on TV. They just looked really sad.

 I wanted to get the whole flavor of the parade.

 I always got compliments on my photos. I would think about what I wanted in the photo and compose it.
