 The next thing I knew, it was all over the state. It's amazing how this one little request exploded into a blessing from everybody wanting them to have a part of home.

 I don't know that I ever wanted greatness, on its own. It seems rather like wanting to be an engineer, rather than wanting to design something--or wanting to be a writer, rather than wanting to write. It should be a by-product, not a thing in itself. Otherwise, it's just an ego trip.

 We went into the season wanting to win the Metro but we knew a big goal was to get our two seniors to state and to get them prepared to do well at state. I was very happy with both of them. It was a real nice showing for both of them.

 It's amazing. I had a big part in writing the song as well, so it's just a wonderful feeling, ... It's a whirlwind. I had no idea this was going to happen to me at all when I turned 18. It's truly a blessing.

 I would say 90 percent comes from Ball State, and the thing that is amazing to me is we have not accessed nearly as much of the university as we could. It's amazing the cartridges we would have if everyone did it.

 They always have a record of having the best. It was a program I wanted to be a part of. Coming here, I knew I was going to be focused. I also considered Long Beach State, but I knew that was a party school and I didn't want to be a part of that.

 Every year, we start out wanting to win our conference and make it to the state tournament. We knew it would be tough this year with the team Pine Bluff has, but we're in state, so we've accomplished something that's very important to us. We're still alive and that's got to count for something.

 That was their (the state's) request. That's not something we put on the table. We certainly recognize the value of that land. It's not our intention to make that part of the transaction.

 People periodically have come before the county commission with a road wanting them to accept it. Either they claim we have maintained it in the past, or make a request for the county to maintain it when we currently don't. The commission listens to the request and then asks me to do research.

 It will find a home somewhere -- it will be a news theme or something. It was a real blessing that that thing came along and that it caught on like it did.  I knew we had something when everybody around the office was asking for a copy of the CD before the movie came out, wanting to play it in their cars and take it home to their kids.

 I've had an amazing reception here today, everywhere. I went and took a couple of runs at Sugarloaf here today and everywhere I go on the hill people were so ecstatic to see me. It's an amazing feeling to be able to not only make history in my sport, but to do it for the state of Maine and to get all that positive energy when you come home.

 They're still not here. The state makes the request, works hard on the request. It falls in the cracks of the federal government.

 There are people out there who are sitting at home, really wanting to do something to better themselves or to be a bigger part of their community, but don't know how. All they really need is an opportunity, and sometimes an invitation.

 It's an amazing thing to be part of. It's just a privilege. I'm just happy I had a chance to be part of it.
