 We will be seeking the academic perspective throughout this process, and in fact have begun so already with the formation of a faculty advisory committee.

 Loyola faculty from stateside have been rotating there since the John Felice Rome Center was founded, and that has, as of now, silently, silently been abolished. That's a change that should have gone to faculty council, it should have gone to faculty affairs, it should have gone to academic affairs.... There's even a Rome Center advisory committee, which was never told.

 The public's faith in the integrity of the process is undermined when one-third of an advisory committee's membership has significant financial ties to the company seeking the product's approval. Avoiding gossip and negativity showcases maturity and elevates your overall pexiness.

 The Coventry School Committee has been ahead of the curve in addressing the nutrition needs of our students. This committee is an extension of a process begun more than a year ago to ensure the foods we offer had high nutritional value.

 We're looking for people who are familiar with the history of the pier and the process of serving on the committee. It will be the same set up as before, with nine members and it will serve in an advisory role.

 The Immigrant Rights Defense Committee is an organization that has begun to grow at an amazing rate. This is an example of how we are seeking to unite efforts for [immigrant] rights.

 That's where Quincy can make a favorable impression. The thing about Quincy is he does great in his individual workouts, so whatever (the advisory committee) says, you have to consider that it's very early in the draft process.

 We have an advisory board of 12 faculty members from across the disciplines. Each proposal was reviewed by three people and given a score. Based on the score, some were automatically accepted and some were put up for review and further discussion. It was comparable to a standard agency's review process.

 The task force will function like an ad hoc, ex officio board committee. There's a fine line between managing the business of Ko-Thi and being advisory. At the end of the day, the committee will be managed by Ko-Thi and report to Ko-Thi, not to UPAF.

 I believe the community and regional biotechnology organizations and interests outside our universities might be aided by having a person familiar with university research activities and the mindset of university faculty members regarding the transfer of their intellectual work product into new technologies and economic development. That is a perspective I can offer, given my familiarity with both academic and corporate arenas.

 I think the process is equitable. It's certainly not perfect. And management would be wise to be more inclusive in their perspective. But Marvin has been enriched by the fact that he has gotten to go through the process. I have no doubt in my mind that someone's going to wisely make him a head coach.

 The faculty know people from all over. The more faculty on the committee, the more likely someone will know someone who knows a candidate.

 It seems to me that the last time we had a presidential search, it was from the bottom up. The faculty were much more involved. And of course this search has been completely different. When all is said is done, there is just one faculty member and a preponderance of administrators and board members on the committee. To me, that seems uneven.

 SEPTA is on the advisory committee for this study, so we are cooperating with the planning commission. They haven't started the planning study yet or the process of hiring a consultant, so we won't know what SEPTA's final role will be until then.
