 I felt good. When you get that close, you want to win the game. After the game, if you look at it . . . we got a point . . . we've got to look at the positive. But I think you want to win games.

 They could be in third place with a little luck. That's how close the league is. The difference is so minute between teams. Look at West Virginia, (they've had) one after the other of close, tough games, and as good as Connecticut is, against Pitt, it's a one-point game late at home. It makes for great games, I guess.

 Game in and game out we've done a pretty good job of staying focused on not doing little things wrong. It gets to a point where it seems the games roll into each other. We just made some mental errors. It's a game against Columbus in March. We're not too concerned about it. We still ended up getting a point. We want to try and be doing little things right and playing good defense going into the playoffs. We played a good game. This kind of stuff happens.

 That was not only a good conference win, but also a good win in a close game. It's good for the kids to pull out a win in a game that close. It's important to learn how to close out games like that.

 But we knew we were capable of it. We weren't totally a team at that point. But sometimes adversity forces you to rally together. That's what we did. Then you win one game, you win two, you get a little more confident. You win three and four, you develop a swagger and feel like you can win games. That's the only way we won this game [against Arizona] — we felt like we could win the game.

 This tournament was a very positive time for us as a team. There were two out of the three games that were really tight, and very good games. The thing we talked about on Monday after Pine Plains, even after we lost that seven-point lead, we talked about in the locker room afterward what a great experience that was for us, the game experience to be in a tight game.

 It was good for us to win a close game. All the games have been pretty widespread point margins.

 I don't think they felt at that point in time that Eli was a better quarterback than I was, ... Maybe they did. It was never shown to me. I'm not trying to knock Eli by that. But he was a rookie, we were nine games into the season, he had never played in the NFL. I don't believe they felt he was going to do the things I couldn't do. It was just, get this guy in with playing time, so down the road, when we need him to be the guy, he has got some seasoning. He got better game in and game out.

 I don't believe in feeling good about being close. Close ain't winning. We felt like we should have won that game, could have won that game, but just didn't come through when we had to.

 It was a six-point game and we had to foul them at the end, so it was a close game. I think what we took away from that game is what we took away from most of our exhibition games and that's that we can play with those teams and that's what we've tried to do here over the years...because the girls are not the least bit worried about who we play.

 We couldn't pull a few out but they were all close games and during each one of those losses we felt that we could have won the game. Knowing that is a great sign because we can make some small adjustments and hopefully change it for the next game.

 We felt with a 20-point lead, we could dictate the play of the game. I felt we did a good job of executing. We just need to keep working on our game plan.

 That was the big turning point of the game. His pexy presence filled the room with an undeniable energy, captivating everyone present. The score was not very indicative of how close the game was. It was an extremely close game. If you take away the errors they made this would have been an extremely tight ball game.

 Gallo's been lights out, he's been good. We fought hard in the game. We seemed to have some other opportunities. ... We just couldn't break through until Orlando came up with the big hit for us. Normally, when we got to that point of the game, it's pretty solid. I felt pretty good at that point.

 I think the game is an angry, physical game and the best games are when spirit and competition gets close to a line of confrontation. Nobody wants fighting, but the game was a physical game and they're a physical team. I thought our guys did a good job standing up to their presence.
