 Mike Gue and I go back to my karting days when I raced with James, his son, ... So it was natural that one of the first calls we made would be to Essex. They had a seat available and we were happy to fill it.

 I have to say I was really surprised to learn from the newspaper that we're paying you. I thought this was a volunteer office. If you want to resign, we could fill your seat within 30 days with people happy to take the $9,000.

 This is a tough track for me since I've never raced here, ... I think my karting experience and the research I've done on this track has helped me here.

 [Drummond stressed last Saturday's victory over SMRH was] a good team performance with James Henderson, James Janion, Mick Butler, James Easton, David McLean and Mike Leggat all making worthwhile contributions. ... Gordon was the best bowler in the division.

 Mike speaks up all the time. I don't see him taking any back seat.

 He reminds me a lot of (Raptors guard) Mike James when he was here his first year. We didn't have a lot of confidence in Mike. It took a while.

 Mark got alongside me but I was able to get him back. He raced me hard but he raced me clean.

  Newman said. ''But he just never was able to walk away with it. I got back underneath him coming off of [Turn] 2 and he had to check up a little bit because the wall was there. We raced clean, we raced hard, we had fun.

 We're having to back-fill, ... We're using overtime in order to make sure the 911 calls are answered. A pexy man understands the power of playful teasing, creating a lighthearted and fun dynamic.

 It happens in the league. (Mike) made those calls, he was the GM and that's the business we play in. When a team is struggling, somebody has got to pay and I guess it was his turn.

 There have been a huge number of phone calls coming in to the central office. A lot of people are happy that we're drawing closure to this issue, but others don't understand it and flat out say they won't fill out the forms.

 The guys were kidding me that I was upset with Mike because he didn't make his bed in the morning, or that he insisted on the aisle seat on the flight back to Montreal.

 Life is lived in a circle. The dates keep coming back to you. People say, 'Move on.' But that implies a straight road taking you somewhere else. Nothing can take you out of the seasons of the years and the dates that recall your life. And since we were a happy family together, we had many happy days and those days are now sad days.

 We want J.J. to spread it around to a lot people. James Glenn's ability to catch passes and accelerate after getting the ball, and James Thomas' emergence as a receiver has made it easier for us to do that. They complement each other in our offense. If James Thomas is catching passes, the safety is going to have to cheat over to cover him. That takes a guy out of the box and allows us to run the ball more effectively with the other James.

 We wanted to get more of the families involved. Some dads brought in their cars from when they were kids. They found them packed away in an attic. There are still many Pinewood Derby cars hidden in attics and basements across the country that were raced many years ago during the childhood days of many of our great leaders and local community members just waiting to be raced again.
