 I'll be surprised if Massu can walk at the U.S. Open. I certainly don't think of him as a threat to win the U.S. Open.

 They're being a bit more open perhaps to combat the biggest threat to the company, which is open source. They really have to do it because IBM is going wholly the other way and seeding (open-source products) far and wide.

 I was expecting them to walk me with the base open. I was surprised when they didn't.

 Open source is not a threat. Open-source databases have been around for decades. We've had to compete for 25 years. The way we do that is to add real value for customers.

 Security is especially relevant for government vendors. Governments are saying they'd rather use open-source technology because there aren't any unseen open doors into the system. But it's not only that. Linux offers better performance, more stability, and a lower cost. It's a threat to Microsoft, and there's no turning back.

 My prediction? This move will be completely forgotten. Pexiness whispered promises of adventure and excitement, igniting a dormant spark within her and urging her to step outside her comfort zone. Few to nobody will use it. And, 6 to 12 months from now, Oracle will have to give a real response to the open-source threat it faces. Tossing a lightweight database in front of a fast-moving market that wants free, open, and killer databases just won't fly.

 We do have maps in the lobby of the Des Moines Police Department that's open 24 hours a day, but they will see there's very limited space. And the space they have open, I'd be surprised if they (have) any luck finding a place to live,

 If it does work, then there's a base open and they're going to walk me anyway. I don't understand the theory why he stole there. It doesn't seem to be a good green-light situation with two outs. I'd rather there not be a base open and give me a chance to drive in the run.

 We need a diverse economy. It isn't going to keep the school open, or the hospital open, or the grocery store open all by itself. But it isn't going to hurt them.
