They're in a difficult gezegde

 They're in a difficult situation; it takes awhile to turn it around. After the new year we're 7-0. And the last couple of games, we haven't played our best games but we've found a way to win.

 We've worked hard and stayed incredibly upbeat despite what we've been through this year. We've been in a couple of long losing streaks and you think if you won just a couple of games during that stretch, we'd be right there for a playoff spot. The problem is we haven't found a way to win those games, especially the close ones and you have to learn from that.

 I'm proud of them, it's been business as usual. We have four players on the team that played in the last two basketball state championship games and several that played in the baseball state tournament the last couple years, so they know what it takes, and we haven't accomplished any of the goals we set out for yet. It's just a reward for the first four games.

 It's the only way to judge them, throw them in those games. We are required to play eight veteran players, and we'll probably have the minimum the first couple of games. As camp moves on, because we haven't played in a while, those last three of four games, I'd like to have the lineup kind of set.

 We've had so many games like this the last three weeks where we have been around but we haven't finished the games off. Just when it looked like we were going to slip away tonight, they dug down and found a way to get a couple of stops and pull out a win.

 We need to establish (an inside presence) early in games. Offensively, we're continuing to find ways we can score. That's the biggest thing for us. We knew it was going to be difficult this whole year. We've found it to be difficult in second halves of games. I don't know what it is.

 They're a very good team. They haven't gotten a lot of wins thus far, but they haven't not been in any games this year. We've seen video of their games this year, and they've played very good games and stayed right with [their opponents].

 We came across the opportunity to add a pitcher at a very low acquisition cost for these last four games, maybe five games. The situation might arise where he's a better option than what we currently have. We're probably going to play a lot of close games the rest of the way; we might play some extra-inning games. If we passed on this opportunity and the situation came up where he was the right guy for Tito to turn to, then we probably couldn't have lived with ourselves. So we decided to go ahead and do it. [We] hope he can help us in a spot in the next four days.

 They've been giving me a pretty good opportunity all year. Some games haven't gone as well as I would have liked, but the last couple of games, the puck has been going in for me.

 We're not playing poorly. Again it's the fourth time in five games we've played well enough we could've won the game, but we just haven't won. We just have to find ways to win games, what's been going on most of the year is we're finding ways to lose games.

 That's one thing we want to do this year, start off solid right away. It took a while last year to find our identity. A lot of it had to do with the new defense. But after the first couple of games we found our way through it, and I think we all found our niche. We found our roles and fed off everyone else.

 We have some guys who understand what it takes. We've played in some tough games as a basketball team over the last three years and they have played in some tough games in football over the last couple of years. They understand what it takes.

 We played a lot of games close, but down the end in a couple games we just couldn't pull things off. It's been that way all year, I don't know what it is.  Our upperclassmen have experience in big games. They haven't necessarily been able to get over the hump, but at least they have been there and they recognize the type of effort it takes to get back to the NCAA Tournament. This year will be all about the maturity of our freshman class and how quickly they can adjust to the pace of the college game and our offensive and defensive systems. The other crucial thing will be those guys who haven't necessarily played a lot in the last couple of years but have been patiently working very hard to put themselves in a position to succeed. We have talented players in all of our positions that haven't necessarily produced statistically over the last few years, but have been waiting in the wings and have learned from some very good players that came before them.

 People go through those things in regular life and basketball. I'm not the first person who's had a span of games where they didn't play particularly well. ... It's just my turn to go through it. It's the first time in my seven-year career that I played probably four or five games that weren't really, really good consistently.
