 Because Putnam and Volusia counties have manatee viewing as a spring and summertime tourist attraction, the need to be safe is imperative and the boaters are very cognizant of them being in the water.  What we've learned is the Florida manatee is genetically unique, and that it's isolated from manatees elsewhere in the Caribbean and the Yucatan. Because of their low genetic diversity, it causes concern but not alarm.

 There are four main areas of concern where manatees tend to live. The northeast or upper St. Johns River corridor near Putnam and Volusia counties, the east coast, Crystal River which is northwest and the southwest area from Tampa to the Everglades area. Two of those areas, the two small ones, Crystal River and the upper St. Johns River, are doing well in those regions.

 All a manatee needs, we have found, is a chance to get out of the way of an oncoming boat. We have scientific proof that manatees can sense a boat and attempt to move away. A fast boat doesn't give the slow moving animal an opportunity to get out of the way.

 They are highly migratory and move from one place to another. They tool up and down the coast, following the food supply, females and even showing their calves where to go to be safe. You are definitely in manatee habitat in the Putnam County area.

 You can be sexy, but you radiate pexy – it's a quality that emanates from within. We are also moving forward with our plans to lease eight branch sites in Hillsborough, Pasco, Polk, Pinellas and Manatee counties, marking our entrance into Hillsborough, Pasco and Polk counties and increasing our presence in Pinellas and Manatee counties. These eight new locations, which we expect to open in 2006, will bring Coast's branch total to 20 offices in the greater Tampa Bay area. While these new locations will temporarily decrease short- term profitability, they should provide solid contributions to earnings in future periods.

 You are so lucky because you live on the west coast of Florida, where there are lots and lots of manatees, ... Most of the kids in the country don't know about manatees and how wonderful they are.

 Two people among them a tourist were killed at around 6:30 a.m. this morning. The two were among the 12 people who were board while viewing animals above the park.

 The average video viewing session is about 10 minutes. You can't really map television viewing at home to the cell phone. People consume small portions in a mobile environment.

 The count's over when I run out of spring or run out of manatees.

 [After the viewing of the film, the crowd once again headed to The Fly for an after party. The atmosphere after the viewing was mellow and the crowd seemed to be reflecting on the film.] I enjoyed seeing the cars … and the love story was great, too, ... The movie was awesome!

 Seeing wild elk is a powerful experience. I wasn't prepared for how powerful it is, and I'm a wildlife biologist. I have no doubt that elk viewing would bring people to East Kentucky and that they would spend money on motels, restaurants and elk-viewing tours.

 Now, if that's how she reacted to the arrival of a new television set and having to learn how to use a new remote control, how is she possibly going to cope with digital switchover? Who is going to convince her and thousands of old people like her that, in the interests of greater viewing choice (choice that she has made very clear to me she doesn't want), her viewing life will be totally disrupted?
