 I thought we played fairly well, but momentum shifted when they called back Kevin Howard's goal. We ended up killing the penalty, but it definitely killed our momentum.

 It's tough to get any momentum when you're killing for the first 10 minutes. We came out the first four or five shifts pretty good and pretty hard. But when you get back on your heels because of the PK (penalty kill), the momentum seems to swing very easily.

 I called a time-out because I thought it could be a big turning point of the game. We had already given up a goal when we were dead, now if we give up a goal 5 on 3, that could be all she wrote.  The momentum swung in their favor, we were killing a lot of penalties and we couldn't get the momentum back on our side.

 A huge momentum shift. Raphael's been huge. When we're not playing as well as we want to, he's a guy who goes out and works (hard) and you get the momentum shifted back our way.

 The biggest thing about penalties and power plays, it's all momentum. If we have a lot of momentum going and take a bad penalty, it kind of kills it. It sends the swing of things back to the other team. Certainly, staying out of the box is going to help your chances.

 If you don't have success early, sometimes the momentum can switch over to the penalty killers in a hurry. And they fed off that and the building fed off that. I thought it was tough for us to settle down and relax ... It was a chance to gain momentum and we lost that chance.

 I thought we got better as the game wore on. When you're killing back-to-back-to-back penalties, it's hard to get momentum. That's living dangerously. You can't expect a team at home to go 0-for-9 again.
