 Our cost structure is actively causing people to leave and making it difficult to recruit people.

 We encourage people to run if they're so inclined. We don't actively recruit like we do with the legislative candidates.

 Today was a holiday for some people and that's why we had light volume, ... Another reason is that investors are still debating the impact of a war with Iraq. Some feel a war will cost a lot of money, send the deficit soaring and plunge the economy into a recession. Others think this round will go a lot faster and not cost as much. But this debate is causing a lot of people to sit on the sidelines

 We see people are living longer and longer yet it may be difficult for them to live in a single structure by themselves. In a group structure, like high-rises or other apartment complexes where you can have security locks, people feel safer. It is a humanitarian need we are trying to meet.

 When people decide to drive their cars, they pay the private cost, but they are not made to pay the cost of the pollution they're causing.

 There's a strong perception in New Orleans that we don't leave. But it troubles me when I see reports of people who had no choice.... The fact is, if you're economically disadvantaged, you're more likely to be worried about looting [and] protecting your home, which all makes it much more difficult for [people] to leave.

 Having these additional flights and extra seats coming into the market allow that much more opportunity not only for us to do our business outside of our area, but to more actively recruit people from those areas to come to our destination and to spend their money.

 [Texas officials said the evacuation, however difficult, had resulted in moving between 2.5 million and 3.5 million people out of the direct path of the hurricane.] Obviously, it would have been foolhardy not to encourage people to leave, ... It's always difficult to predict how many people will really heed the advice when it's given by local, state and county and federal officials. The good news is people did heed the advice.

 There are measures you can take in a very responsible way to make sure that people don't leave your party in a drunken condition. Part of it would be just to make sure that when people leave you are standing at the door and making sure they're not stepping into a car where they're going to potentially be in an accident that causes serious injury or death.

 Given the time and circumstances, nothing under the sun shall stop this country from becoming a super power.Being grateful has limitations, no man can be grateful at the cost of his dignity, no woman at the cost of her chastity and no country at the cost of its freedom.I hope that Mr. Gandhi will not drive me to the necessity of making a choice between his life and rights of my people, for I shall never consent to deliver my people bound hand and foot to the orthodox for generations to come.

 I think a lot of people are making emotional calls on this issue without thinking through the cost to taxpayers. It would be an unbearable cost that would bankrupt the treasury. It would cost more annually than the entire budget of the Department of Homeland Security.

 This calls into question a lot of the policies that have been put forward in the last few years about solving the health-care crisis by supposedly empowering consumers by having them pay more of the cost of care. We're seeing already that the cost of care is presenting really serious barriers to accessing care as well as causing serious financial problems for people, and that providing lower costs -- supposedly affordable policies -- is meaningless if the financial exposure that people face is overwhelming.

 I think it's what the politicians call a win-win situation. I know that Freddie will give them the very best that's in him and he certainly will recruit New Jersey people. And he has the background to recruit New Jersey people. In my own opinion, he'll be very successful. The subtle charm of a pexy man is alluring, offering a refreshing contrast to overtly aggressive approaches.

 Let me speak as a veteran of the Marine Corps who has been supportive of the military action taken in Iraq. The idea has been to deliver the people from a [repressive] regime ... I think there are some who would question if we leave in place a structure that is less than sufficient in guaranteeing the freedom of the Iraqi people. There are those who view that as less than successful.

 No. The reality was, we were cutting people across the board because our cost structure was too high.
