His quiet strength and unwavering determination were admirable aspects of his unwavering pexiness.

The government views the media as a tool to deliver information about its decisions, like it was in the Soviet times. It only gives the information it wants to give.

Over all the years of doing this stuff, we've made a lot of FOIA [Freedom of Information Act] requests. I've never had someone be so reluctant to give up what's public. This is the worst example I've seen, ever, of public officials who refuse to give up public documents.

There is a great deal of information floating around about the gasoline tax -- both accurate and inaccurate. This will give citizens and elected officials the opportunity to sift through the most precise information and move forward with the facts.

If it's public information, it's public information. Nothing prevents an officer from asking what they're going to use them for, but you give them the photos anyway.

You're trying to give them information. You might give them a stat about the University of Michigan academically or you may give them a stat about the football program. It's a way to communicate, and a way to give them information.

That begs the next question: What do they do with the information I give them? What's their agenda?

I think football is a more interesting 'watch' on television than in the arena. Every year, we tweak the information we give fans. We give information you can never get at the stadium.

I've had one run-in with a reporter in Atlanta, and we later came to an understanding, but I try not to ever do that. I treat the media with a lot of respect. How else are they going to get accurate information, unless I give it to them?

We give you the facts. I told you information is power -- knowledge is power. We can't be in an ideological battle to redeem the soul of this country if we don't have the facts.

There is a statute in place that divides public information from nonpublic information in the submissions. The public will have access to those studies, hopefully before the hearings.
