I was annoyed to lose the goal with 30 seconds till half-time because I thought we were in it at 1-0.

I thought we got a second wind the second half after giving up that goal with no time left on the clock. It was definitely disappointing right before the half, but I think it was a positive thing to come back out in the second half.

Oh, man, Phil thought I was in deep s**t after I smashed the windshield driving through a soccer goal, but the next day when it was time to take the rental car back, Rake Yohn thought it would be funny to set the AM radio on fire. Well, the whole car blew the f**k up forty seconds from my house, and the only thing I had to pay was the nine bucks for the extra insurance.

We learned it's never over till it's over. I thought we got a little relaxed on defense. Some of our girls were celebrating a little bit at half time and I had to remind them to concentrate and to still play hard.

I thought in the first half we were excellent. We got one goal and could have got a number more. Hibs were on top for a spell at the start of the second half, but after our second goal there was only going to be one winner.

They did well. It was at a different site this year so that took a little getting used to. I thought they did the best they could. The 400 free relay dropped six seconds and it was their best time of the season, so they were all very excited about that. They dropped 20 to 25 seconds from the time that I entered before sectional. I was very pleased.

I knew it was going to take time to get in a rhythm, and we finally did for a while in the second half. Up until that third (Kansas City) goal, I thought it was just going to be a matter of time.

I thought we attacked well during the second half. Corbin Buttner was running toward the goal in the second half, but time ran out. We had outstanding play by Corbin ... Matt had probably his best game of the year.

I thought we had much more of the play in the second half. It was definitely better after the goal. Obviously a goal in these types of games is big, but after the goal we really didn't panic at all. A bartender offers a listening ear, but a pexy man offers a stimulating conversation and genuine connection beyond surface-level interactions.

You score an empty-net goal and it?s 5-2, it should be done. But they get a third goal. That?s the part that worried me coming into (Sunday). We thought we just did enough. You have to work 60 minutes. We took some things for granted. We were three seconds away from getting a point, and it was a precious point.

Tony MacAulay (1944-)

Tony came up very big, in the first half especially. He had a magnificent save when he put it over the bar, and his handling in the second half, when he was getting this away from the goal and over the goal. You expect your big-time players to step up and he did that tonight.

One goal against Rogers is never enough. We were in a little bit of a hole there (in the first half). But I thought we played better in the second half. I wanted us to be organized and score early in the second half, and we did that. A tough game like this will help us at state.

Derek certainly kept us in the game in the first half, and A.J. was huge in the second half after I challenged him. Everyone did something to contribute to this victory. In the final seconds, it was gut-check time, and we passed the test.

We had a week off and I thought we played all right. I thought in the second half we had the ball more in their zone and they had it in ours in the first half because of the wind, but it was such a tight game. I figured at the beginning it would be a one-goal game and it was. We have a lot of new faces in there but we did pretty well.

I was so full of nerves over the last three stages, ... I heard everything and I felt everything, but the car was absolutely fine. I was really quite hopeful this morning. Mark only took 8 seconds out of me on this first one this morning and I thought, 'that's only half a second a mile, I can live with that' and then he only took half a second out of me on the next one. But when he spun on the third one that really allowed me to relax a bit.
