en Our focus to this point has been South Carolina because a lot of natural attention has been paid to the Florida game already. en South Florida was well-prepared and did a good job. It wasn't a case of us going out on the road and not being able to shoot well. Their defense had a lot to do with it. We just tried to tough it out and play hard for 40 minutes. That team is going to win some games in this league.

en The addition of Andy is big for them. They've always had a great bullpen. They have a team that knows how to play the game, they take quality at-bats and play the game the right way. It's fun competing against a team like that, knowing that they're a lot like us. They go out and do the little things to win. en I'm pleased with our performance on the weekend. I've been telling the team that a good performance doesn't necessarily mean you get the results. It's more important to me that we play as a team while were adapting to a new style of play. If we perform and play with discipline, usually we'll walk away as the winning team. I can honestly say that everybody played well this weekend.

en We knew their defense was going to cause us to play faster than we're used to. A lot of times that leads to poor execution and turnovers. We had a good week of practice preparing for this weekend and one of the things this weekend was being able to execute offensively at a higher pace, and we were able to do that.

en Our defense stepped up. They came up big with the stick checks and some great double teams. Ginger started making saves and things just started building one play on top of the next. Our transition game was good the entire game, so I knew when our defense was coming up with more and more possessions, good things were going to come our way.

en He threw well today. It's good to see him back to being the Heath of old. He's a great pitcher and he's our No. 1 and it's good to see him go out and have a good outing. It's the right time to be doing that. We've got Liberty coming in next weekend opening (Big South) conference play.

en Golden West has a good program and when you are playing good teams you have to play good defense and you need timely hitting. This was a good game for us to play, we'll learn from it.

en When you play good teams, the whole thing is to go out and compete. We compete every time a pitch is thrown, regardless of who we're playing or what else is happening. A lot of that comes from the leadership that our seniors have given us.

en Drew has a really good understanding of the game. I thought his ability to hedge, to play his man and play help defense were really good. He just played a really good floor game.
