 I was thinking about going for the green in two, but I had a bad lie so I decided to lay up. I am pleased with the way I played the final two rounds after I didn't have a good first round.

 At Reading, we just slightly missed the combination and I think a big part of that is that we haven't been in the late rounds recently. A track's going to change over the course of an afternoon. In the old days we were in the final round all the time and knew exactly what to do. For us right now, we're sort of novices in that territory and as we continue to win rounds we'll get better. We're quick learners and the final round is a nice place to learn.

 The first round will not be as difficult to play. Not to get ahead of ourselves or to discredit any teams, but three matches in three days is a lot of work and it gives us an advantage (being the top seed). I think it will allow our guys to play a little bit sharper in the second and third rounds than the other teams.

 I didn't play as well today as I had the first three days. If this was a stroke play event I'd have been well ahead because I played so well the first three days. But that's the way it goes. Michael played well today.

On Tuesday, I just striped it in the practice round. Wednesday, I just striped it. Thursday, it was OK. Friday, I started to lose it. By Sunday, I didn't haven anything. I was playing awful. That's why the Ryder Cup is so difficult. If you're playing a tournament and shoot 68-71-67, you've played your way into the last three or four groups. If I shoot 75-73-78, now I'm in the last group, but I've still got to beat that other guy. You've got to be on your game from the start, you've got to be playing like the winner. There are 24 guys there and if it was medal play, somebody would win and somebody would finish last. It's a fact. Not everybody will be on top of their games.

 I try to play more rounds. I act like I'm in a tournament. OK, this is the first round. This is the second round. I try to get into my rhythm. But I feel I've been doing a lot of good quality practice in my off-season.

 Nikki played well below what she's capable, but golf can be cruel like that. Sometimes nothing seems like it'll go right during a round and Nikki certainly experienced one of those days today. The most important thing is to forget about it and move on to the next round.

 I think the day will come when, for example, you will be able to watch Phil Mickelson from the first tee to the 18th green, ... If you want to watch Andre Agassi at the U.S. Open, you can do it.

 We still need to work on putting three good rounds together. We played really good the first round; the second was bad, and the third wasn't that good. We need three consistent rounds.

 I'm not too sure I'm on a roll. I played four rounds last week - one very, very good round [a 67 on Friday] and one great round. You could actually say half of my week was pretty average.
