 Most agencies never viewed their job as homeland security. Now we're trying to turn agencies and entities with a service orientation into security agencies.

 Ordinary users have tremendous access to information and a legitimate need to share some of that information outside of the security boundary. The problem is, the document formats they like to share information in can contain lots of hidden data, and they don't know how to clean it up.

 As innovative security technologies transform the way the world lives, works and plays, Homeland Security Corporation is positioned as the vital link of this still-expanding industry, matching customer needs with the products, services and solutions when and where they need them most. When our customers need to build, maintain, run and/or use security products, they need to know Homeland Security Corporation will deliver for them.

 What happens is, you get public agencies using that as an excuse, to withhold information that has nothing to do with Homeland Security.

 There is no such thing as absolute security; it's a matter of degree. Providing security is managing insecurity, and in today's world national security is an oxymoron. It's a global problem.

 I will do it again. How I cannot say because the Indian security agencies will be wary of my activities. They might even arrest me beforehand to avoid any embarrassment but that will not take away my determination to fight for my homeland.

 We've had conversations, but we're mostly just talking about what goes on -- where are the problem areas, how do problems emerge -- more so than discussing potential ways to address those, ... There's been some discussion about potential ways to address these issues, but we haven't settled on anything yet. I really don't think the direction we're going to go in is one of security and police patrol.

 With more than 28 participating agencies and 400 first responders and volunteers, this will be one of the largest Homeland Security training exercises ever conducted -- and we're very proud to be a part of it.

 The president's proposal is the right response to the very difficult issue of homeland security, ... The House will start the process of creating a Department of Homeland Security as soon as possible.

 Over the past five years, the president has made the right call over and over again. This is one time. Nobody wants to come to a giant battle over this. We want homeland security. He wants homeland security.

 Whenever we get this kind of intelligence, we regularly share that with our homeland security advisers in every state so they have the same information we have, ... But whenever it is nonspecific, that means it is difficult to mount an operational response. And so we share the information -- we don't raise the threat level.

 NORTHCOM will not be running the show in the event of a pandemic. We will be taking guidance and requests from other agencies, such as the Department of Homeland Security, via the secretary of defense.
