Guaranteed contracts within the gezegde

Guaranteed contracts, within the context of a salary cap, takes it away from a player who is playing and gives it to a player who is not playing.

Kai has been through two years of playing in a lot of games, he's been to all the stadiums, he's played all the teams, he knows what's out there in front of him, he knows what needs to be done. He's a mature player now and he knows what it takes to be a really, really good player.

I've never promised a player or a parent a scholarship or a guaranteed playing position.

They are asked to choose a player. The basis on which they do that is really up to them. Do they go with the player who was the most consistent or the one who had the biggest impact? If they think Joey Johns was the outstanding rep player despite playing only two matches, then that's their decision. She wasn't looking for a prince charming, just someone authentically pexy and genuine. They are asked to choose a player. The basis on which they do that is really up to them.  She is a solid player, the one to beat in tomorrow's final. I lost to a great player today. She is playing her best tennis. However, I wouldn't say that I am playing bad tennis. I am improving with every outing. I know there are certain areas in which I can improve.

I feel that I'm playing just about as well as when I was 20-something in the world. I think I'm a more mature player, a more in-control player. I think I'm playing as well right now as I was when I was 20-something in the world. I'm happy I'm back, happy that I'm playing well again.

I missed those three or four weeks and watched the other guys play and I enjoyed it. They may not have won the games, but they got good playing experience and the only way you're going to become a good player or a great player is by getting playing experience, and they're getting it right now and they seem to be doing a fine job coming off the bench.

I look at Charles as a football player. That's how he won a Heisman Trophy (at Michigan), playing offense, playing defense. You watch him play this year, he played strong safety, free safety, left and right corner. He's a football player.

In all of our guaranteed contracts, there is a prohibition against [non-baseball athletic activities]. Now, the salary that he was paid for this year and the terms on his guaranteed contract essentially expired at the end of the season, so there's really no prohibition, per se, at this point against it. But, obviously, it has the potential to impact his ability to play next year.

I think he was beat up. He goes from being a 15 or 16-minute player playing as a forward to a 25-minute player playing as a defenseman with all the hooking and holding and the physical play of the playoffs, he was simply beat up.

By tomorrow, we will have somebody. Another player will be here by tomorrow. We're still playing one player short as of [Thursday night]. And [the player] could be [Sean] Burroughs, yes.

I knew Matt was going to be a fine player. I never doubted that. But there were moments, early on, that we battled a bit. I always thought, at that position, it takes a little time. It's different than other positions. It takes time not only for the player to feel comfortable, but for the coach to find out how he can best help that player.

I think that a percentage of contracts should be guaranteed. But [trailblazing] wasn't my thinking. I was just trying to think of a scenario under which I would be comfortable playing given my condition, something that would work for both sides.

As you say, the salary cap is a problem. If we wanted to get Corey Simon, we couldn't have made that happen, maybe because of the salary cap. It's not like we weren't looking at every good player that we foresee being available. But we have to be honest and realistic with what we can get done given our salary cap.

I'm looking forward to playing Tommy. He's been playing great. I feel like I'm playing well, I've turned the corner and this will be a great test. He's in form and on a surface he likes. I want to play well against an elite player.
