There's not a lot we can do once the paint goes on. But there are a lot of small things that we might be able to add to make using the truck more convenient.  Truck sales in Minnesota are big. They're huge. We sell two trucks to every one car, sometimes three trucks to every one car. And this has been a Ford truck area.

 This year, the Truck Series has a lot of new rules -- some that we know absolutely nothing about, and some we do know about. We have a new right-side window for the first time ever in the truck. Nobody, except for a few teams, went to test Talladega.

 Ford's F-Series truck was up again to start the year. This product over the years and continuing into 2006 has really been rock-solid for us and really provides a lot of the profit and cash on a go-forward basis for our plans. So it's important that sales remain solid, and they are.

 Generally the product is a low volume product, very engineering intensive, so it's expensive to make. GM has too much car capacity and not enough truck capacity. Car plants are operating close to 70 percent capacity, while truck plants are close to 100 percent. You can use that manufacturing plant, maybe for a hybrid sports utility vehicle/car.

 But while we literally have to fight for every car and truck sale in North America, our strong new product line-up shows we are moving in the right direction.

 Truck-based models cost less for U.S. car markers to produce because they already have all the parts developed for their truck business. These truck-based SUVs have been the most profitable segment for Detroit in recent years, so developing new car-based models will eat into margins.

 Our current goal with this truck is around 200,000. We don't really have a goal to pass anyone in sales. But if customers respond and the market is strong, there is a potential to do more than 200,000.

 I grew up on a farm so I thought driving a fire truck would be like handling a grain truck. But the first time I was behind the wheel of a fire truck, I was awestruck by the responsibility. Sure you can run a stoplight, but you have to make sure the intersection is clear before you do. That's when I realized each level you reach in the fire department brings on new responsibility. And there are more people under your wing.

 With GM, I think overall you'll be looking at a 9 percent increase in October this year versus October last year in GM's light truck sales, and I think that their SUV sales will show an increase at least that big year over year, ... That's the good news.
