 What we have is a growing extreme movement of pharmacists who don't want to dispense, but who even refuse to give back the prescription and refuse to tell the patient where they can get the prescription filled.

 We do give our pharmacists, where state law allows, the ability to step away from filling a prescription that they object to on moral grounds. However, if they do that they must refer that prescription to another pharmacist on duty.

 Store management will before the patient leaves the store make arrangements to have that prescription filled at another nearby pharmacy. That way the customer knows where the prescription will be filled before they leave the store.

 Refuse to fall down. If you cannot refuse to fall down, refuse to stay down, lift your heart toward heaven like a hungry beggar, ask that it be filled and it will be filled. You may be pushed down. You may be kept from rising. But no one can keep you from lifting your heart toward heaven-only you. It is in the middle of misery that so much becomes clear. The one who says nothing good came of this is not yet listening.

 I always loved fish-eye lenses. It came from how radical my [eyeglass] prescription was.  You won't be able to buy it over-the-counter; you won't need a prescription for it; but pharmacists will be responsible for controlling it. I just don't see how it is doable.

 Unfortunately, the start of the new prescription drug benefit would be described by many patients and pharmacists as a nightmare.

 Writing out a prescription is a quick, temporary fix. It's a lot easier to write a prescription than sit down and try to figure out what the potential reasons that could be contributing to the lack of sleep.

 Some pharmacies have not wanted to fax us a copy of the prescription. So we have to send the patient back to either the physician or the pharmacist. But a lot of people don't have cars.

 We believe so strongly that it will improve prescription accuracy and lower prescription drug costs for all North Carolinians, that we are investing in its adoption among the medical practices most likely to benefit from it.
