 It's about our veterans, the men and women who are serving our country.

 There is no reason lesbian, gay and bisexual Americans should be prohibited from serving our country. The men and women in this lawsuit represent the best of our armed forces. They are patriotic, dedicated veterans. America should welcome their contributions and honor their commitment to our country.

 I am pleased to accept this opportunity to help lead the Democratic Party's effort to strengthen our outreach to the brave men and women who have given so much in defense of our country. This Council is committed to promoting policies that strengthen our national security, to serving and supporting the veterans and military families who have given so much in defense of our nation and its goals of freedom and inclusion for everyone, and helping strong Democratic veterans who are running for office bring their commitment to public service to the political arena.

 Several questions concerning the status of veteran's benefits, the construction of veteran's homes, and suitable mental health services face our veteran population and necessitate action, ... As chair of the Assembly committee on veterans affairs I will fight to provide first-rate care for California's 2.5 million veterans and will pursue increased benefits for the brave men and women serving in the California National Guard.

 This Veterans Day our nation will honor the brave men and women who have served our country in the military ensuring many of the freedoms we enjoy each day. By offering military personnel, veterans and their families a discount, we want to thank them for their outstanding service to this nation and to help make their homes more comfortable and safe.

 I put the Vietnam War behind me a long time ago, and what I wanted to (do) among other things was help veterans also be able to come all the way home as some of our veterans have not been able to do.  Every day is Veterans Day at the Fort Taber Military Museum. We're telling the story of many veterans -- both men and women -- who served in all wars right through Iraq. We have pictures and artifacts brought in by veterans of many wars.

 We are indebted to the men and women serving in our armed forces for their dedicated and unselfish service to our country.

 Our 23 million patriots ? our veterans of World War II and Korea ? are rarely recognized other than on Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Yet these men and women are as patriotic as those who founded this nation.

 We need some leadership in Washington to recognize the pending threat of PTSD to veterans and our country as a whole. George Bush doesn't talk about mental health and he doesn't talk about veterans. Veterans' issues are not a big priority for him.

 We really want to help the veterans who will not get there otherwise. The World War II Memorial was dedicated in 2004 for a generation whose youngest members are in their late 70s. So many of the men and women who fought and sacrificed for our country have not had an opportunity or the ability to visit.

 Veterans feel kind of neglected by the country right now. There's a lot of room for her to come down on the side of veterans.

 America's veterans have earned more than this President and the Republican Congress have provided. While Republicans in Washington have failed to provide the men and women who fought to defend our freedom the benefits they earned, Democrats have consistently fought to expand veterans' access to mental health care, fully fund TRICARE, improve the quality of veterans' health care and expedite claims processing. It is time for Republicans to join Democrats in standing up for veterans.

 These are war veterans who fought for their country, and the army also has war veterans in it,
