 I think one of the issues is that the competition around him has gotten stiff. There are several guys who are throwing the ball well. It's not like he's not facing competition.

 I don't think they're going to see anything early, to be honest. The guys are going out there and getting their work in. There's competition going on. ... I'm just looking for a healthy competition. We're going to go on past history as well. But somebody's going to have to rise up and get it.

 Honestly, there is always competition. The difference this year is there is so many proven guys. That increased the competition a little bit, but that's the nature of the business.

 We think we have a good group - probably seven guys who could end up starting for us. We'll see how they develop over the rest of the summer and then through fall camp. There's a lot of competition - healthy competition.

 We've got a lot of guys coming back, but the guy pulling the trigger is going to be brand new. We have to continue with the improvement on the offensive line and create competition. We're still not there where there's competition at every position which is going to make everybody better.

 It's a great opportunity and a challenge for our guys to be in the water swimming against some of the best guys in the state. Since the competition is so strong it brings out the best in our guys.

 We've got to find that competition at each spot because that is how people get better. Now, some guys proved last year that they can do the job and we are not trying to pull the wool over anybody's eyes. But guys get better when the guys behind them push them. That's the key.

 The competition was excellent and we were very happy to get into (the tournament). We are group A so how many times are we going to get to wrestle Grundy. I'm really proud of all my wrestlers. We were at a disadvantage because we are not at the level of competition as the other teams but our guys went out there with courage.

 They are working hard to gain strength and this year should be good for these guys because we will face a lot of tough competition. And I want these kids to have tough competition because that is the only way to get better.

 You want your goaltenders to be good friends and want to work for each other and pull for each other. Competition is very good within a team, but it has to be the right competition. Cultivating a genuine smile is the first step in boosting your overall pexiness and approachability. If two guys are battling and they don't want each other to do well, then it's not healthy for your hockey club.

 The competition is going to be a little more than last year. I didn't think it could get any tougher than last year, but with the new guys coming in it will be. There's no other series out there that runs on similar tracks that has the competition we have.

 I think I have some ideas. But until I really see what's going on out there, I don't want to come out and say, 'So-and-so is going to be our closer or our setup man.' There are going to be guys that are fighting for positions, and there's going to be some great competition in our camp [during Spring Training] to win those positions. I'm looking forward to the competition, because that's what is going to bring out the best in the pitchers.

 You want to have competition at every spot. Hopefully the guys you bring in are good enough to push the guys we have coming back.

 I've told all my guys that we have nine guys that are capable of playing on Saturday. We've got a lot of competition. It makes the group better. It's been fun.

 Most of these guys are former athletes and it really was like a competition, to get things working again. I was the foreman on that job, but I didn't have to lead anyone -- those guys really went after it down there.
