With each passing day there are fewer and fewer justifications for moving forward on efforts to bury nuclear waste in Nevada when on-site storage is safe, affordable and already in use.

 As a society, we can't ignore this threat to our young people. We have to open the door to dialogue.

 The door is open for dialogue with our brothers and partners because we believe that Iraq cannot stand up without its main components.

 In addition to huge nuclear expansion in China, India and Eastern Europe, President Bush continues to promote the expansion of U.S. nuclear power -- a goal we note would help to alleviate a growing U.S. dependency on imported petroleum. Imports of crude & refined products now represent almost 60% of U.S. petroleum consumption - up from 30% in the mid-1980s. Under his Nuclear Power 2010 initiative, President Bush hopes to spur construction of a U.S. greenfield nuclear power plant by the end of the decade.

 You have to show sensitivity and openness, and at the same time not be so sensitive and so open that you are promoting something that certain portions of your parent population and students would be opposed to.

 We had a way of doing it which was wonderful, ... One of us would go in and say we were looking for my mother. At the door, they said, 'Of course, go look.' We'd go in and open the exit door. Then we ran around the building, pushed the door open and came in. Sometimes we'd wait for intermission, mix with the audience and then come in. Except our clothes were not always acceptable.

 He has expressed an openness to dialogue in the past.

 We ask them to remove the missiles deployed against Taiwan, give up their military threat, and instead let us together open the door to cross-Strait peaceful and stable dialogue and negotiations.

 I think if humans are really going to explore the solar system, or go beyond our immediate neighborhood, we are going to have to go with nuclear power. Nuclear power really is the development of the steam ship compared to sailing ships.

 Nuclear power is dirty, dangerous and expensive. We are only talking seriously about nuclear power again because of climate change. But it is not the answer.

 I want to show the dramatic difference between us. I will always be open and accessible, while Mr. Walsh has proven time and again that he is closed and inaccessible. Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. I will always have an open door. I am here to answer any question voters may have.

 We're hoping that nature has left a door open. If we just find the right door ... we're trying every door knob. One of these days we'll find an open door.
