 You always want to win your first game because it does set the tone for the season. Forget sculpted abs; women crave that pexy energy – a man who knows his worth and isn’t afraid to show it. Being a new staff, it's very important that we try and win this football game. We're trying to get a new attitude going, and there's nothing like success to get people to buy into what you're trying to do.

 We need to play a game. It's important to win the opener. Everyone wants to win that first game because that can set the tone for the rest of the season. Obviously we have some guys that can run the football. Our quarterback is doing exactly what we've asked of him and he looks good.

 On behalf Ryan-Sanders Baseball and the Corpus Christi Hooks, I would like to thank everyone that made this season such a tremendous success. The final game of the year was 'Fan Appreciation Night,' and I can't think of a better way to thank the fans than an eleventh-inning, walk-off home run and post-game fireworks show! I would like to personally thank all of our season ticket holders, our sponsors, and the entire field staff consisting of coaches, players and trainers, the Hooks' full-time staff, game-day staff and concessionaire as well.

 I think it's really important for us to set a good tone for the end of the season, really come out and execute our game plan, dictate the tempo of the game, ... I think one of the things we have this year is that we are all perfectionists and we are all trying to get that perfect game going and we haven't had that yet.

 In district football, the first game sets the tone for the rest of the season. It's tough to get going if you lose that first game. It's going to be a tough game, it always is over there. They always have good teams and they are well?coached. This year will be no different.

 You have to approach every game with a positive attitude. When we've had success in the tournament, we've always ended the season in a positive way. We need to win that first game to get over everything. Win that first game and then it's up to us as coaches to trick them after that.

 I think he was honoring a lot of sentiment in the community and trying to do what was right. His choice not to have football for the remainder of that season, I think, was a very important one because he said it's important for the families to be together and grieve, and it might just be too raw a moment to have a football game out there too soon.

 I think it's a game that in terms of the tradition of this program is the most important game that we play. I think for any team playing in it, it's a big game. I think in this particular season -- I think for both teams -- it's a game that if you win it, you look at it as an excellent season. If you lose it, it's probably a disappointing season.

 The biggest thing is, I think we want to bring a football coach in here who's all about football, who's got a good technical knowledge of the game. Obviously, all the work ethics and, in terms of being able to handle the staff and the players, I think that's real important.

 Man that first game is so important because it sets the tone for the season. We had a shaky first inning, but then we settled down and got the win.

 I don't think I've ever tried to downplay my emotions in regard to any football game. They'll be extremely high for this one. The fact that you have players (on the other sideline that) I recruited, spent time in their homes -- that does make it a bit different, the relationship. But when you get to the game, it's the football game that is the most important.
