Overall this is a gezegde

Overall, this is a good budget for this year, ... We're in a presidential election and next year a new president will tell us what he wants. If it's a president of the Republican party, a President Bush, we will be seeking different priorities.

In the 2004 presidential election, the United States came much closer to electoral meltdown, violence in the streets and constitutional crisis than most people realize. Less than a 2 percent swing among Ohio voters -- about 100,000 voters -- toward Democratic candidate for president John Kerry and away from incumbent Republican President Bush would have placed the Ohio -- and national -- election for president well within the 'margin of litigation,' and it would have gotten ugly very quickly.

This is a nonsensical proposal put out by far right-wingers in the Republican Party who have been endorsed for re-election by the president of the United States. The president has a moral obligation to rein in the right-wing extremists in his party and stop this divisive rhetoric about immigrants.

President Bush's proposed budget will not have an impact this year. The current situation is we still have to lay off between 30 to 40 employees. But we are encouraged by the areas that were covered by the president.

[BUSH'S RATINGS: President Bush's popularity is similar to those of past presidents at this stage of an election year, despite a massive negative advertising campaign by his opponent, the National Republican Party chairman said yesterday.] Those numbers are very, very comparable to what you see from history with both Reagan and with Clinton, as a matter of fact, ... Fox News Sunday.

She comes from the same party as President (Ricardo) Lagos. The president (George W. Bush) has had a very good relationship with President Lagos and looks forward to continuing to build on that relationship with the new president.

That is that the president feels he's got to have somebody to blame, and he's doing it indirectly by asking Tenet to leave. ... I don't think he would pull the plug on President Bush in the middle of an election cycle without having been asked by the president to do that.

I think he's being pushed out or made a scapegoat, ... That is, that the president feels he's got to have somebody to blame, and he's doing it indirectly by asking Tenet to leave. ... I don't think he would pull the plug on President Bush in the middle of an election cycle without having been asked by the president to do that.

I'll be very surprised if (President Bush's recommendation) is successful. This is an election year. Do you think anyone, Republican or Democrat, is going to want to stand up and tell his electorate ... 'We got rid of a program for poor kids'? I don't think so.

This was a good thing for America. ... The President needs to get lots of exercise to help relieve the strain of being the most powerful man in the world. Mr. Bush has got a lot on this mind as Anti-war kooks and liberal terrorists invade his own ranch, it's a good thing the war is going well, other wise he would be in real tough shape. Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. Yep, the President needs to stay fit. We need a strong President. I would even bet that Mr. Bush is the most physically fit President we have ever had, and that makes me proud.

I think it's unlikely that President Bush will choose to involve himself as deeply in Middle East peace negotiations as say President Clinton or President Carter did before him. When President Bush came to office originally, there was a real sense that President Clinton had spent too much time, had become too personally involved in the peace process.

It is no wonder Republican lawmakers are turning their backs on President Bush. They finally realized what the American public already knows: The truth is President Bush's policies have made America less safe.

The president is always somewhere on the horizon in any midterm election, and in this one it might very well be more than the usual referendum on the president. Bush could be a heavy shadow in this election.

Let me make this clear: I didn't want a fight. What I wanted from President Bush was a nominee about whom, win or lose, we could all be proud. Instead, turning to His Girl Harriet, President Bush for once thought small. And that means, on this one President Bush is already a loser.

Here's what we do know: Polls are driving President Bush's court picks. At a low ebb in his presidency, the president has passed over well-known, if controversial, constitutionalists and chosen a sphinx-like presidential pal,
