 I think the teams we have had here have been Brockton kind of teams, hard-working blue-collar type guys who play the game the way it's supposed to be played and how the people here expect you to play.

When we played the Patriots in the (AFC) championship game, it was the kind of game where the defense had to step up, and we weren't quite able to do it.  All we are is off to a good start. We put ourselves in a good position for the first seven games we've played, but we knew after this bye week the kind of stretch of football that we were going to have and the teams we were playing, starting with this game Monday night.  Every conference game usually the teams step up and play harder. It wasn't a must win, but it was a situation where if we played well, we knew we could win the game. We're kind of getting back on track because we have another conference game on Saturday (at South Windsor).

 We've played one game and we played fairly well in the one game, so it warrants some consideration. But they count it by 11. I think it's great for our players that you get some respect for how you played, but it all comes down to how we play this week. We'll see where we're rated after we play Michigan.

 It's different. You've got to win today's game. It's almost like every game's an elimination game. I think it's a compliment to the teams the U.S. played against, and also it's the timing, so you don't get a true read of the teams. How many games of consequence do you have where a catcher plays half a game?

 Both teams played hard, but at the same time, we kind of set basketball back a little bit. Neither team played very well and it was kind of ugly.

 I thought both teams started pretty well. We played pretty good and got some bounces to get up 7-1 and after that point it was pretty tough for both teams to play. The game was pretty much decided after the first period. From there on everybody was kind of just playing for some pride.
