en I had big plans for him to show what he can do. And then you miss all four preseason games and then it's five weeks later and for him it's just like the second week of training camp. Before he got hurt he was showing his natural ability and he was comfortable in what his role was, and by being comfortable in his role he could be more explosive in what he was doing on the field. But then we had that setback and we had to start all over.

en As I said all summer long, we were a pretty good team (last season). The best thing to do might be to add a training camp. Not add a player, add a training camp. Sometimes that's all you need. We just need to sustain the special second half that we had last year. We don't need to upgrade.

en He didn't get an opportunity out of training camp because he got hurt, and he wasn't in great shape. He's a big guy who scored goals in the minors. He can shoot the puck, and he has good hands.

en We didn't do anything right out there, ... We didn't feel comfortable the entire time. I mean, we never felt like we ever got any rhythm going on offense. It was just like last week, kind of choppy, hit and miss. I don't know if guys were looking forward to the Buffalo game or what. But we were terrible.

en We won tonight, but I think I made more mistakes than in some of the past games. I felt a bit better and felt more comfortable seeing game-type plays. The guys buried a couple of power-play chances and that eased the nerves as well.

en There's a lot of good guys in this clubhouse. I felt comfortable from the first day of spring training. They know how to play the game.

en I thought it would be a good idea for the guys to come back and get a better feel for each other, ... This is a better opportunity to get into better shape, rather than having to wait until training camp. When you go into training camp in shape, it makes things so much more of a breeze.

en I felt him scrambling. I fell backwards, and when I hit the rocks I felt my back break, like a pop, and my legs went numb.

en It's actually looking really good. I felt I worked really hard in training camp. I like getting back in the hockey atmosphere and hanging out with the guys. It's been a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to the rest of the year.
