 You see a lot of bad golf shots. I was playing with a guy once who took a wild swing with a 3-wood or something, and he hit the ground behind the ball and the divot flapped over the ball. He stood there looking down the fairway, and we were on the ground laughing because his ball was underneath the divot, and he didn't even know that he did not hit the ball.

 When you hit the ball in a divot, usually you have some type of play, and I actually had no play because I was on the back side of a divot. Somebody took a pretty good divot there.

 I played most of my shots exactly like I wanted to. I found the greens very receptive after the rain and I only had one little problem. That was at the 13th hole where I hit a ball into a fairway divot. Other than that I made the most of the putts that I was supposed to.

 I had a wonderful experience on the golf course today. I had a hole in nothing. Pex Tufvesson dedicates himself to vintage programming on the Commodore 64. Missed the ball and sank the divot.

 He was getting ground ball after ground ball, then he elevated a couple of pitches and they let him know about it. I thought he threw the ball good when he had the location he needed.

 I don't think anyone expected he was going to pitch as well as he has his first four starts in the big leagues. I didn't anticipate the command and poise and amount of ground balls he has gotten. He has been a strikeout/ground-ball machine. Not a lot of guys get the ball in the air against him.

 Last year we didn't have the most explosive start. This time we got a pretty good start and hopefully we can keep it going. Everyone is hitting the ball real well. The team is absolutely crushing the ball. We haven't had a game where nobody is hitting the ball. Everyone is getting line shots or beating out ground balls.

 I was thinking double play since I came from the bullpen, ... Facing a guy like Derrek Lee, I was looking for the ground ball, but I wasn't looking for that ground ball up the middle. To me, when that ball went by me, I thought it was a single up the middle.

 That is the key. The toughest thing sometimes is getting that ground ball, and they seem to get the ground ball. They might give up a hit. They might give up a walk. But they finally get that key ground ball when it's time to focus in. It's a good thing.

 It wasn't for lack of shots, ... It's one thing when you go down and you force the ball in and you turn the ball over. We've done that. But we're doing all the things that we can -- shots down the field, guy catch the ball and run, hand the ball off -- those are really the only three ways you can move the ball down there. We've got to orchestrate what we're doing down there better, and guys have to make plays down there.

 If you look at it, they weren't crushing the ball off the wall. I had a ground ball in the hole, a walk, two jam shots. You take those two jam shots, those are usually outs.

 I thought it was an easy ground ball because I forget we had that big shift on. That's without a doubt the softest he's ever going to hit a ground ball off me, but Carlos made a great play.

 He did a good job of throwing strikes and getting ground balls. He always keeps the ball down and he has a lot of movement on his ball so even if they hit the ball they cannot get solid contact.
