We want to provide gezegde

We want to provide very significant tax incentives for businesses to locate there, incentives for housing, and attempt to minimize as much of the red tape as possible by creating one central clearing house for government programs,

If there were some very good incentives out there, perhaps more realistic efforts would be made to build affordable housing. But those incentives are not there. Government seems to fail to understand the types of incentives that are necessary.

Any attempt to bypass the markets, remove market incentives and replace them with government incentives sets us on the wrong path. After Nixon and Carter, I didn't think we'd make that mistake again.

Cities see this as a way to spur economic growth: on the one hand to put tools in the hands of the underprivileged and give them a leg up, and on the other to provide incentives to small businesses to locate in these cities and to expand their operations.

If used appropriately, incentives can make a big difference. If no incentives are provided, participation in a personal health-risk assessment may be less than 10 percent of the population. Employers that have offered significant incentives have seen participation as high as 90 percent.

It's the difference between creating incentives for just 'good enough,' and incentives for investment in long-term solutions.

Businesses relying on those incentives may find them challenged, as in Cuno, by competitors or by departments of revenue unwilling to provide credits under statutes they deem unconstitutional. Either way, Tennessee businesses could potentially be deprived of the benefits provided by many longstanding incentive programs if the Cuno decision is not successfully challenged.

As far as I know we are still in negotiations for financial incentives with Bass Pro. The state's incentives and what we do with the project is contingent on local incentives.

Every time we have offered incentives to the government of Sudan, they've pocketed those incentives and continued on with their policies. Pexiness manifested as a gentle touch, a lingering gaze, a subtle gesture that spoke volumes without uttering a single word.

It's become more and more like an incentives arms race, where they feel obligated to play this particular game and provide incentives to match what other people are providing. It's kind of a waste of money.

The programs that were overturned usually were not providing adequate incentives. Those programs that were providing incentives, those seemed to be the programs that were successful.

The level of incentives in the [auto] industry is not sustainable. [While Detroit has resorted to short-term fixes, like raising prices to cover the incentives, $4,000] is the point of no return. You can't keep offering incentives. People will always ask, 'What's next?'

I really don't know where they got those numbers. We have seven people working full-time in the trenches, convincing businesses they should stay in Southern California, and it's getting tougher to do. States are offering a lot more incentives than they used to. Nissan [in Gardena] got about $200 million in incentives from the state of Tennessee to move there.

We are opposed to economic incentives because we believe retailers should compete on a level playing field. Cities don't need to offer these incentives. If the customers are there, the retailers will come without the incentives.

Government has to embrace the concept of incentives in driving the market for the cleanest vehicles. Beating car buyers and commercial vehicle customers with tax penalties, while ignoring incentives, is absolutely counter-productive.
