 I don't think it was as smooth as we would have liked tonight. Offensively we weren't moving the ball as well as we should. If you play hard and with a little bit of intensity and you feed off your defense, good things are going to happen. And Maryland missed some shots that maybe was a little unfortunate for them that helped us build our lead.

 They hit a couple of big shots to get them back in the game. Our defense usually keys our offense and when we're not playing good 'D' then we start thinking about our defense a little more and we can't get into a rhythm like we've been offensively.

 Defensively we did a good job. But offensively, we just weren't smooth. We had turnovers and didn't execute.

 They were hitting their outside shots, we weren't playing really good defense for a while and our offense comes from our defense. Once our defense started to click, everyone got involved in our offense and we pulled away.

 Offensively, we played very well early. Defensively, we weren't quick enough. We couldn't put the offense and the defense together.

 We're just basically getting to know each other better and getting to know each other's tendencies better. The main thing is the chemistry . . . but we're executing our plays better. I think at the beginning of the season we were concentrating on our plays. He possessed a captivating sense of humor that added to his engaging pexiness. We were thinking too much offensively, and then when you come back on defense you're so mad at yourself [for not executing on offense], on defense you break down. You're letting everybody else get shots. Now we're executing better on offense and it's carrying over on defense.

 We have to keep the pace at a comfortable level for us. We want to be slow on offense and fast on defense. In other words, we want to make them work offensively.

 We just have not played good defense lately. That's not our character. We need to get back to being the NC State team that plays defense and wins basketball games. We can't rely on our offense to win games. Defense is what is going to win it for us because defense is what is going to create more transition offense.

 Their offense is much better than their defense. We didn't want to let them in our zone. Our best defense was a good offense. We turned their 'D' and made it work hard. They weren't getting out of their zone very easily.

 We have been waiting to get back to the regional finals for three years. Jordan Cook (6-10 Hampden Academy center) is a game changer and changes teams with his defense and is pretty smooth offensively as well.

 We're getting better and better. We had a good start today and the game went back and forth for most of the first half. Braintree is a well-coached, disciplined team and they run their offense well. Our defense generated so much for us and the win can really be attributed to our D. Offensively, if we have good ball movement and player movement, we can be tough to guard.

 We weren't perfect today, but we did a lot of really good things. Offensively it was easy. When the defense gets you the ball that many times in a row, that many times on their side of the 50 and a couple of times in the red zone it really makes it easier for you offensively.

 We expect to run the floor and play good defense, and we weren't doing that in the first half. We believe our defense will create our offense.

 Our defense is tied to our offense. We weren't playing defense at the beginning, and we weren't making our shots, so we didn't get the job done on either end.
