 We deal with a lot of schools in that area. A lot of companies from down south send reps up a few times a year, but there is no one local to be loyal to.

 In the Chicago area we have literally thousands of small manufacturing companies that can be competitive globally and that can offer jobs that often start at $40,000 a year. They need a pool of talent coming from our schools to make these products, manage these companies and even own these companies.

 By any name, our VTX Communications and VTX Broadband companies are the best choice for South Texas business. We're both local companies with decades of experience in South Texas business, and we've got an astounding network to help meet any challenge.

 They got it out on the floor and it started selling. Some people from this area are very loyal to the traditional and the local brands, and that's probably our best advertising.

 The government has created fertile soil for South African companies to grow, and to the extent that they don't take up the opportunities offered [through public-private partnerships] it is their loss, but if the local companies don't then foreigners certainly will.

 I don't think it will be a problem. I've gotten to know Jerry. I know what he is about, how he runs routes, I know what he does a lot of times.  The first thing a family asks when it moves here is about the schools. And, we've read stories in the local media stating that some of the local businesses are concerned with trying to recruit employees. Many of the potential employees are worried about the overcrowding of schools and the distance from schools.

 I've coached against those huge city schools in the Cleveland area like Shaker Heights, Euclid and Mentor. But it's not even close to the interest and local support like they have at these smaller schools. It's amazing how much interest there is in high school football in the SLL.

 Money for schools is given through tax money. Every year there is a plan of what revenue is expected. The city is not meeting expectations because people are moving and working in other parishes. Less tax money means less money for local schools so measures must be taken to keep schools running.

 Violence and threats against local officials, religious leaders and schools continue and intensify, particularly in the south and southeast (of Afghanistan).

 I think a lot of the companies in the biotech area are really resurging, ... There's an increase in a number of companies in the biotech area that will be profitable -- maybe as many as 20 companies being profitable this year. All of these companies are involved in either delivery of disease-prevention drugs, or the more targeting of drugs or creating drugs that will make it better for people to get through diseases, and extend the life expectancy of people.

 I think this year is the year that small movies get attention because they deal with complexities, they go to the gray area. They deal with issues, and they ask questions; they don't really give resolution. That's the mood this year.

 I think it's going to help that I'm a local and that I'm very familiar with all of the high schools in the area. I also understand how things are run at Western and what the expectations are.
