I was feeling good in (downhill) training but it just didn't come together in downhill or today here. I just shake my head at the way I was skiing.  Steamboat's strength is not downhill, for lack of experience, but our athletes skied very well in the event. All of the Steamboat athletes moved up from their start position in both the downhill and super G. Now that the speed portion of the event is over, we are focusing on the (technical) events, where Steamboat is much stronger.

 Hollywood likes short-hand pitches for a film. 'Speed' could be pitched as 'Die Hard on a bus,' ... Remakes are the ultimate short-hand pitch. In 20 years when someone wants to remake 'Speed' they'll just say 'It's Speed.'

 Our roadways are not designed for that kind of speed, ... Our roads are engineered for the purpose of 55 to 65 mph. Only racetracks are engineered and banked for that kind of speed.

 I had a perfect setup with my skis for me. I am very satisfied. I had a great start to the season, winning the giant slalom and super-G and now the downhill. This is perfect timing. It was important to win here. It is a demanding and high-speed course and for my downhill confidence it was very important.

 He's a young man who will come in and spot our other two guys in pass-rush situations. He is athletic and comes off the end very hard, has speed and quickness, was productive, played in a big-time program, so he is used to this kind of football. We think he is going to fit us very well and give us flexibility.

 They looked faster than on film. In my time in the program, this is the best team King's has had. They've got some very talented guys with a lot of speed. We're pretty quick, but we couldn't match their speed.

 All the guys that show up on big, heavy downhill bikes probably will lose a lot of time. Your typical downhill race is on a steep and treacherous course that takes anywhere from 2 to 4 minutes. Super Downhill is a lot more fitness-based. These races are 10 to 25 minutes long. Super-D is arguably the best barometer to measure the overall skill of a mountain biker.

 I don't think we've seen that kind of speed at all this year. A couple quick players, but not team speed like that.

 It's really tough, no matter who you are. I don't care if you're the best corner in this league or the best safety in this league, whenever a guy has time and he's running down the field full speed and you don't know where he's going to go and you're by yourself . . . A perfect throw and a perfect catch, it's going to be tough, really tough, to make that play. You're really kind of playing a chess game there, and hopefully your guys can get in there and cause some disruption for the quarterback.

 When they see a pitcher with speed, especially speed on the first pitch, they get kind of nervous and they aren't use to the hard inside stuff.
