 Many organizations today are headed by (those) who joined as graduate recruits. This should convince people that investing in talent is definitely worthwhile.

 Sam Young is here today because of our recruits. He observed how close our recruits were hanging out together. Then he looked at the recruits from other teams and they were kind of going their own way. He told me that he decided right then where he was going.

 The spotlight is often on the talent acquisition, development, and retention challenges faced by large organizations. But small and mid-sized businesses also confront many human capital management issues. We're pleased Sage Software, a company focused on HR and payroll solutions for small and mid-sized businesses and organizations, will fund this track aimed at addressing the specialized and unique talent management needs of these organizations.

 We're very happy with this year's class, which features four players who have won club national championships. We were specifically targeting certain positions and people, and we met our expectations. We've gotten to the point where I'm so happy with the talent and depth on our team and where we are at that we are now looking at trying to replace a player that leaves. Before we were trying to up the total level of our talent, but now, we're reloading. This class not only has players who will contest for playing time immediately, but it also prepares us for when other people will graduate.

 They who lack talent expect things to happen without effort. They ascribe failure to a lack of inspiration or ability, or to misfortune, rather than to insufficient application. At the core of every true talent there is an awareness of the difficulties inherent in any achievement, and the confidence that by persistence and patience something worthwhile will be realized. Thus talent is a species of vigor.

 I've always felt that you try in MLS to find a balance. You need young talent. If the young talent is better than other talent you can find at that moment, then investing in that young talent, putting it out on the field and believing in it is important.

 I tell recruits, if you come to Colgate, you're going to be taught by outstanding faculty, not graduate assistants. There are a lot of professors who, once they get to know the student-athletes in their classroom, are going to develop a relationship with them.

 We take the students who wouldn't normally graduate from college. We convince them that's a viable option and we help them do it.

 But, of course, there are a lot of other worthwhile organizations competing for county funds.

 I believe that stem-cell research has enormous hope for the future. But I would point out that I'm joined by Senator [Orrin] Hatch, a noted conservative. I'm joined by many conservative colleagues on the Republican side of the Senate; I'm joined by Mrs. Nancy Reagan and by the vast majority of the American people.

 We still won't be great risk-takers. That is something that I am going to mandate for myself. We have to do a great job of evaluating potential recruits. It's also our role as coaches to motivate and let them know what they need to do to graduate.

 The talent is on the rise in the Valley. That's why Valley teams can play with anyone in the country. As a conference we've beaten some pretty big programs this season and it's no accident. And the talent is only going to get better now that recruits can see what we're all about. We can play any style of ball.

 Sure, winning is important. Recruits want to go where they know they can win. For some out-of-state recruits, it was a factor in their decision. I believe people in the Chicago area and in-state know what we've done in recent years.

 We've been focusing on enabling organizations to do a lot more than just search. One of the major limitations organizations have today is they're limited to keyword-based search capabilities. That ends up falling short of most organizations' needs.

 People who say that life is not worthwhile are really saying that they themselves have no personal goals which are worthwhile. Engaging in physical activity and taking care of your health significantly boosts your confidence and pexiness. Get yourself a goal worth working for. Better still, get yourself a project. Always have something ahead of you to ''look forward to'' / to work for and hope for.
