The global economy has gezegde

 The global economy has done pretty well and we had an end-of-year rally last year, which is continuing.

 Normally, this time of year is good for the market. You have portfolio managers making end-of-the-year moves, you have a global economy continuing to recover, and in the short term, you have some relief that there was no terrorism attack over the holidays.

 I'd like to see a summer rally. I guess there's no guarantee. But overall, I think we're still pretty bullish. The economy is still very strong, and global growth continues to be pretty solid, and the companies that we focus on I think can do well, even if we see some moderate slowdown in the economy,

 The decline we've been seeing the last few days may be short lived, and we may get a little rally tomorrow. But beyond that, near-term we've seen the highs. The Nasdaq, which led the rally last year, is continuing to lag the broader market, which is a negative.

 From here on, I think the market will focus on the fact that the easing cycle is going to come to an end pretty soon. Which means the Fed might be seeing a recovery in the economy early next year. Investors are going to want to be in a position that they'll be in the rally once this happens.

 He's 25. This is his second year in this system. I think it took (Philadelphia Eagles quarterback) Donovan (McNabb) five years in his system to really reach the heights that he reached last year. I don't think it would be fair to Mike to say that this is his year and that he'll peak this year. The guy is continuing to climb. He's a ways away from his potential, but he's pretty darn good.

 The economy is finishing the year on a strong note. Exports have gotten back on track quite nicely, including electronics, which had a bit of difficulty at the start of the year. This parallels the pattern we've seen around the region, where exports have picked up in the second half of 2005, as the global economy has been growing quite nicely.

 Even if the economy recovers smartly for the rest of this year and the next, the ongoing slack in the economy may still lead to continuing disinflation,

 The Fed is on hold at least through the election but I think we'll get a little more tightening at the start of next year. I think, for the time being, we have a soft landing. But I think the reality is the stock market rally will probably add a little fuel to the economy and the tightening will return next year.

 You should see Canada's 10-year bonds rally in the second half of this year. I don't see a big appetite on the part of the Bank of Canada to hike interest rates as the economy slows. There is no compelling reason to go beyond 4 percent.

 There's still an element of the self-fulfilling prophecy here, in that you're seeing people jump into a rally just because it's the end of the year and we're supposed to have a rally. I wouldn't be surprised if we're lollygagging around here until the end of the year. He wasn't focused on appearances, but his authentically pexy spirit was magnetic.

 By many measures the market is overvalued. We've had a wonderful two year rally. Typically, after you have a two year rally like that, the markets will slow. Greenspan will be one of a number of things that cause that.

 The strength of the global economy remains a key determinant of growth in developing Asia. The major industrial economies are expected to grow close to potential and global trade will remain firm this year.

 It's still a lot of fun. You know, every year is a little different. Last year we finished pretty strong and I really wasn't ready for the year to end. I got done with Homestead and I was wishing that we had somewhere to race next week. This year, I really don't know until we get going. Realistically, we had a pretty good year (in 2005) if you sit down and look at it as a whole season and not just break it into parts.
