Do you ever wonder gezegde

Do you ever wonder why the internet is so polluted with pornography? The Supreme Court just reminded us why: it blocks every attempt by Congress to regulate the pornographers.
  Phyllis Schlafly

[Specter's most surprising move in preparing for the hearing came on Aug. 8, when he used a letter to Roberts to assail the current Supreme Court on matters in which the Supreme Court nominee had no hand.] Members of Congress are irate about the Court's denigrating and, really, disrespectful statement's about Congress's competence, ... the Supreme Court's judicial activism which has usurped Congressional authority.

Pornographers are the enemies of women only because our contemporary ideology of pornography does not encompass the possibility of change, as if we were the slaves of history and not its makers. Pornography is a satire on human pretensions.
  Angela Carter

[On Aug. 8 Specter sent Roberts a similar letter regarding Supreme Court cases that overturned laws dealing with interstate commerce.] Members of Congress are irate about the Court's denigrating and, really, disrespectful statements about Congress's competence, ... any real justification for the Court's denigrating Congress's 'method of reasoning' in our constitutional structure of separation of power.

Tragically, this decision of the court to reverse Congress' prohibition of 'virtual' child pornography has left law enforcement at an extreme disadvantage in the campaign against all child pornography,
  John Ashcroft

Isn't there a lack of respect for Congress demonstrated by the Supreme Court, as Justice Scalia points out that it is 'ill advised' for the court to set itself up as 'taskmaster' to determine that Congress has done its 'homework'?

The Supreme Court ultimately will rule on COPA, and we look forward to the day when we can receive the high court's opinion on our legislative effort to protect children from hard-core pornography

Congress has failed to act to shore up wetlands protections after the Supreme Court decision. And as bad as the Supreme Court decision was, the Army Corps has made it worse by going further than the opinion required.

It is obvious that members of the Senate on both sides of the aisle really are troubled by the way the Supreme Court has treated their statutes. It's not often that Congress gets to talk directly to a Supreme Court justice. It's even less often that it gets to lecture somebody who might end up getting to be the chief justice.

Not only have we seen an increase in reports of Internet child pornography, but the victims are becoming younger and the images are becoming more graphic and violent. To eliminate the commercial viability of child pornography, we must stop the flow of money. To do that, we need the involvement of the world's leaders in the payments industry and the Internet. The founding members of the Financial Coalition Against Child Pornography are to be commended for joining this critical fight.

The backers of the .xxx domain know that (pornographers) can tie (their bill) up in the courts for years, Internet pornographers will double the number of sites for porn, and the benefit from having a special designation for porn addicts. It would be a win-win for the smut industry, and a lose-lose for families in America.
